I don't care about them. I certainly don't hate them though. I think they bring in tourism / a lot of money for our economy. But as I say, I certainly don't care.

The money really isn't a big problem. But I really don't see why we need royalty in the modern world :/
Since the last World Wars, (One and Two) there is now no such thing as officer class and the regular soldier in society. The ethic of 'in it all together' springs to mind.
Add the effect of mass consumerism, free market economies and the culture of time and motion to the mix, it's clear there is no longer a working class, middle class and upper class. This has been replaced by the poor, a broad financial and executive class, a nouveau riche and the super rich.
