Just look around, it's BETA (a word people don't seem to know the meaning of anymore), so their newsserver might not be up-to-date with the website Smile

Sigh, why don't they have some messages up and whatnot.

Anyway thanks for clarifying.

Because you are blind?

http://community.tera-europe.com/home/news/article/closed-beta-test-1.html

Don't understand how these people get these kind of invites, they don't look further then their own goddamn nose..

I didn't get an invite bro, i got a key from a friend who pre-d.

Point is i shouldn't have to search for the goddamn info, it should greet me on the main menu just like WoW does in a news section or on the launcher itself.

It's not their fault you refuse to look up the most basic info possible when signing up for their beta.

CBT2 Patchnotes

Quote:
COOL NEW STUFF
PvP is now available on two servers. Mayhem starts at level 11, so be prepared!
Valley of the Titans
Jagged Coast
PVE is still available on Arachnaea and Serpentis Isle
Guild vs Guild battles are now on. We have substantially reduced the costs for guild battles to make it easy to challenge other guilds during the Closed Beta Test period.
30,000 gold to wage war
3,000 gold to forfeit or punk out
Added “/bug” command for you to report game problems you encounter during beta. Note: you don’t have to report insects you encounter while playing.
Removed two chat channels (Trade, LFG) from server-wide chat to help reduce unnecessary clutter for newly created characters. You’re not in Barrens chat anymore!
Increased default UI scale to 90 (from 80) to ease readability; you can change UI scale in the control panel any time you’d like.

BUG SQUASHES…you spoke up and we listened!
Vekas the Wicked Tree on the Island of Dawn will now spawn three in the area to aid the completion of the quest. We’ve also shortened the respawn timers:
Vekas: 20 sec -> 10 sec
Acharak: 20 sec -> 10 sec
Kugai: 20 sec -> 10 sec
Level 11 mount quest no longer requires users to collect carrots. The new quest allows users to complete the quest within Velika. How ‘bout them apples?
Piglings no longer drop large sums of gold. Sadly, they don’t drop bacon either.
Crashes when switching between game servers or exiting a server queue have been corrected. Similarly, players will not get stuck in the waiting queue when a server is restarted.
Servers will always be displayed in the “Select Server” screen. Previously, some players experienced blank lists.
Players will not stay in the queue when a server crashes or is restarted. The queue will be restarted as well.

What happened? – Some things to look out for.
Keeping the Quota – Quest item is scarce, and harder to find when user base is high. For a place called Lumbertown, you’d think there’d be more wood lying around.
Circle the Wagons – Cinematic will not render environmental detail if player has Distant Environmental detail below the max setting of six.
Guild slash commands (/gkick, /guildkick, /gmaster, /guildmaster) are case sensitive to the player’s name. Your guild leader remains as insensitive to your needs as ever.
If a server crashes while player is in queue, player will enter Character Select.
Cancelling a teleport still consumes the scroll. Magic is complicated business.
Group members do not stay in same channel when zoning.
Mystic thrall re-engages monster after player dies. We hope to tone down this undying loyalty.
Using a controller changes the default skill direction to character direction.
Players need a “back button” to toggle the game controller's on-screen display UI off.
Players may experience a black screen when going from game to server select; a client restart will fix this.
Dynamic Veridian – This mount quest will appear twice now if you are level 11 and log into 16.03.05. You still can’t ride two horses at once unless you’re a circus performer.
Queues are displaying ordinals incorrectly. (“You are 1th} in line.”) We apologize for the 2thache.

Grabbed one of the Zam keys yesterday and played a good 5 hours or so, i really like this game so far.

I enjoy the combat, finally a game where a huge arc with a sword actually hits what it goes through.

So far i really like the melee classes and i found the ranged classes dull, did not get the ranged classes awfully high though. The lancer as a tank seemed interesting, i liked the whole blocking when the enemy actually attacks instead of it being an automatic thing.

Animations and graphics are crisp, i usually don't care too much about the graphics, but i find Tera really awesome looking.

I do not know the company though, so don't know what to expect of them. Will they be attentive to the community and how fast will they patch/hotfix.. I have bought and played most of the big MMOs released in the last 5 years and gotten disappointed in one way or the other, either due to lack of content, bugs, "stiff" combat or it seems like the developer sucking after launch. So i might just have to wait until after release and see how the reaction to the game is.

Well technically frogster could just copy/paste shit from En Masse with patches/hotfixes, so it depends on how their relation is with eachother.
But you could always play on US servers if you don't trust frogster Wink

I'd only play Tera if anyone can kill anyone, just like in Lineage 1/2..
That's what made these games awesome. Hardcore PvP, not some instance bullshit or faction crap, if you want to PK someone go ahead, you can, just prepare to run for a while Very Happy

It sure felt like Barrens chat with all the idiots and trolls running their mouths. Seems like a fairly fun game. Doubt I'll drop $15 a month to play though.

Also, at lvl 6, I haven't seen much, but do attacks get combo's like Age of Conan or even better than AoC? I thought AoC had the best MMO combat to date, but I eventually grew bored of the lack of stuff to do other than raid.

Nope. It's 12.99 euros/month to sub. One of the most expensive MMOs to date apart from Eve for me at £10-11.

I was interested until I saw the P2P model. I heard it's like $35 a month in Korea. It's pretty fun, but that that fun.

Most games that have moved from P2P to F2P have made more money as I understand it. Obviously with the P2P, you get more value for your money if you are a power gamer and play a ton. If you are more casual, you can get more out of F2P most of the time.

I got to try the beta last day but there is no way i would pay monthly to play this or any other P2P games.
beets: World of Tanks is F2P and it seems to be doing well.

F2P is generally a better business model these days. Most people don't have enough time to justify spending $15 a month on a game they might not get that much out of.

It's no doubt a strong business model league of legends highlighted that but usually it's already failed mmo trying to salvage what they can going F2P. Lineage don't surprise me, a lot of Asian countries can't afford monthly subs and therefore would greatly benefit from going F2P.

While being marketed in Europe however,I think P2P is still the best model, compared to item-shop or micro-transactions, a lot of people that seem to play LoL have spent more than they would have using a monthly sub, due to more disposable income than Asia.

Not too sure of the world of tanks format - It's not something I have knowledge of. But what I do know is I was happy with the UO format - monthly fee without paid expansions but Daoc/wow (maybe even EQ) seems to have changed all that.

The combat seemed pretty fun. As there is actual skill involved too. Not just Tab targetting and hitting your keys.
Still i doubt i will be playing it, as Guild Wars 2 is coming out aaround the same time? And that will be at least that good. Minus the monthly cost.
