I was having a hard time watching all that bashing as well. Sad I don't get it, why would anyone want to hate someone for saying that Alan Wake is the best 2012 game for him so far. (Not like there was many decent games released in 2012 thus far.) As I understand it internet forums exist so people could express their opinions. If someone isn't able to get the idea of assertiveness, he should just stay away from places like this IMO. It will only result in unnecessary flame.

I don't really think he was being attacked for saying that, but more for making it too easy and then easier with each reply of his. The wolves saw an opportunity and took bite after bite Cool Face I sense he's a young fella so hopefully he will learn in the future how not to bite the bait.

INCONSEQUENTIAL

Yes, INCONSEQUENTIAL when the limiting factor of light is not the flashlight itself but the batteries you put in it. And unless you're completely terrible at the game you'll never come close to running out of batteries, even on Nightmare*. There would be no point at all in carrying any light other than the most 'heavy duty' one that you come across which--shockingly--is exactly how it works now.

*-Anyone playing the game now, do yourself a favor and play on Nightmare the first time by unlocking it with -developermenu. It isn't super hard, but it makes the game a vastly better survival horror experience. Normal is trivial to the point of never feeling that Wake is in the slightest bit of danger.

well, i've finally finished this game over severals days of off and on play. i think it took around 8 hours total. Rolling Eyes

the graphic looks a bit dated in 2560x1600. the 3d models are surprisingly simple and plain. the chicks look arse ugly. Vomit

perfect xb360 pad support. although, the controls are a bit wonky especially the right analog used to look around and aim. then there's the crazy camera angle that keeps wanting to shift mr wake to the right side of the screen even when you want him on the left side of the screen. Twisted Evil

the story is a bit lame. it's not a lake it's an ocean. i spent all that time just to find that out. wtf? Confused i ended up just ignoring most of the story and flash backs between episodes. although, the end episode songs aren't too shabby. Wink

it got annoying the amount of time alan's inventory 'resets' and you have to go find a flashlight/gun/flare/etc all over again. Mad

anyway, i don't think i'll be coming back to re-playing this game. yes, there are collectibles to be had. i would have to be really, really bored with every other games to go back and play this again. next! Very Happy

Update 2 is being worked on:

Quote:
Update 2 - Week ending March 4th

Aim to fix crashes when using alt-tab during loading
Aim to fix rare AMD first chapter system hangs (incl 7970 crossfire setup) - this may be a driver issue too, so may not be in our power.
Fix DEVICE_CREATE_ERROR for users who have "custom DPI" set in Windows. (Workaround: start game with command line switches, e.g. -w1280 -h720)
Solve "File IO Failure" issue when unable to write to My Documents
Somehow offer Latin-American Localizations through Steam
We'll try to get SLI support in but can't promise that yet...
Continue sorting out other problems users have been having
More improvements to mouse control to get it feeling direct
Remember camera side preference (tab key)

Future updates could bring these changes/fixes/additions:

Quote:
A Future Update
On our radar, but hasn't been evaluated how much work these are, and we continue to prioritize based on feedback.

Hopefully add a free camera for those who want to explore the world
Solve Cursor Key / Numpad assignment issues
Improve Stereoscopic 3D
Longer grass draw distance option
"Low Performance Mode" improvements

Free camera pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Smile Smile Smile Smile Smile

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

noclip refers to the character no? This way I think the camera would just be free for screenshots. It would serve even further to remind of their original vision.

No worries, I'm sure after we play MP3, we'll all feel like it was a drug-induced dream (or rather nightmare). Laughing
