remember, grim fandango was 3d, and was done when 3d was just beginning, so a 3 million budget at that time, even with the collossal inflation was way more than 3 million today.

everything is easier and faster to do compared to grim fandango times.

Syberia (1)'s budget was 2 million euros.

yep,the technology is more advanced and "cheaper" these days(as long you are not making full budget titles) indies can make relatively good looking, and good games with even smallest budget(yea they have their limits though),how much Amnesia was cost btw?

Depends. I hated them at first because they were so empty and seemed to lack soul. I then replayed the first and it's not a bad game - the areas are quite well made but they ARE empty and quite lifeless. It does kinda work though, because of the atmosphere of the game. Just don't expect a lot of dialogue - this game has very little of that. The inventory system is needlessly fiddly as well. Still, worth a play and plenty of people enjoy them as long as you don't expect a classic early 90s adventure game.

Far from the best adventure games ever though - very far. That's reserved for Broken Sword, Monkey Island 2, Fate of Atlantis, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle, Beneath A Steel Sky.

I'm going to try out Syberia Soon,I didn't played Adventure games much though, you can count the adventure games I had finished on a single hand,so far the best adventure game(if it can consider adventure) is Heavy Rain.

After playing Psychonauts, Brütal Legend, Costume Quest and Stacking I'm willing to purchase anything Double Fine do blindly.
I committed moneys to the project before I even read the whole description.
