|
 |
Soo, my GF has never seen Star Wars - yes, you read that right, but I guess there are worse things people hide, albeit they are few. But it's not all bad, she has been badgering me for a long time that we should see them (the originals, of course, come on now), since I love them.
Now, there are numerous cuts, remixes or whatever the fuck you want to call them, but which ones are preferred?
The only requirement is at least 720p, yes 1080p is preferred, but not an absolute must. I mean it was just as good back when I saw it for the first time on VHS..
Anyway, help me out here

Really funny there Acer.
I'm sure as long as it's Bluray, then it's the version you want. Don't think the original cuts are on Bluray, but i might be mistaken.

+1.

Whatever you might think of the first movies and how it came about, it is obvious they are way more grounded in the characters and realistic human emotion, plausible actions and the new are completely buttfucked in that regard. The first were a vision of effects and epic sci fi the prequels were a toy commercial.
8 out of 10 dentists prefer zipfero to competing brands(fraich3 and Mutantius)!

I'd go with the original ones.i don't think that your gf will have any problems with them.shoving as much shit as possible in the screen does not make your movie purty

Exactly, I don't WANT a special edition/"modernized"/whatever, I want the original, unedited ones, and the Despecialized ones are 720p, restored and without all the CGI shit they added in the special editions..

Which makes them pretty fucking awesome in my eyes. Call me a "nerd lololol" but I hated the silly shit Lucas kept shoving into the "remasters!" -- so a despecialised 720p ver? Sign me up! Thanks SiN!

I somewhat liked the first re-release with those few CG scenes, like the EP4 Jabba scene or a few space shots. That was my first time to see the movies on the big screen. The tapes were watched to oblivion, and seeing the 3 films remastered and cleaned, with a few extra scenes was an awesome experience, especially in cinema.
I liked when they altered the EP5 Emperor hologram, but I hated the EP6 Anakin ghost (don't bother me that much any more).
The latest change, like the retarded Obi-wan scream or Vader's 'NOOO!' in EP6...yeah, that I will never make peace with.
I still prefer the original, unaltered ones, but I don't see that much of a colossal problems with those minor additions we saw not much after the release of the prequel trilogy. I only 'hate' the latest fiddling Lucas did.

They were shown in HD on cable , and released by a dude making the best from 3 different sources in 1080i. None of that CGI bullshit. Used the audio from the DVD 5.1 AC3 to replace the DD 2.0 from broadcast

Fun idea and a pretty good result (didn't watch it all though, 20 minutes, here and there), and while some are funny, well made or just clever, some are just fucking retarded and shouldn't have been close to be included, ugh..
