Actually I didn't have any reasoning, I just thought it *might* feel better, but it probably won't. Especially since I've never owned a console, well save for a Sega Mega Drive II.. I rarely use the pad and bought it for GTA IV driving.. It still does it's job in racing games and in games with driving sections.. Which this game has iirc (just a few I reckon), so I'll leave it do it's job there. Thanks for your input.
Edit: thanks ixigia too and Radicalus, hehe, it's still appreciated. Damn how slow and awkward it is to write and edit a post here on an iOS device.. Wish hump had a mobile version, would make things that much easier and replying that much faster.

They're accessible via the Episodes menu, but I'm not sure if they show up unless you've finished the game or not. However; don't play them until you HAVE finished the main story, for spoiler reasons naturally.

I guess if you just start the game and save at initial point the Episodes are available thats what happened in console.

I just finished the game last night. I thought it was pretty decent. I liked the atmosphere but the arcade style of combat kind of ruined it a bit for me. The first half of the game was pretty good with the combat but the story really dragged then in the second half the story picks up and then they over did it with the hordes of enemies. I wanted to like the game more than I did but really didn't care for the flying objects. What bugged me the most I think were those slo-mo b&w scenes. While they were helpful a lot of the time they also made things worse. The exact moment it would end I would get hit with a hatchet or a merry go round and get insta killed. I didn't find the game to be hard just some cheap tactics here and there.

Decided to try it again with a mouse in hopes that it would actually be more fun than when I tried the 3shitty version, and the game is still one of the worst shooters I've ever played in terms of gameplay. I'm sure the story is fine and all, but the gameplay is so mindboggingly bad even with a mouse that i won't ever be able to finish the game.
Oh well..

You running this on a 486? Looks outdated? It's still one of the best looking games around, in fact only the heavy hitter like Crysis and Skyrim look better IMO and as for running like crap, well I've got a mid range system and I'm pulling 50-60 fps so it can't be that bad. I'll give you that the controls are difficult to start with but I'm on episode 4 now and I'm dodging and weaving like a ninja.

The Witcher 2 and Batman: Arkham City say hi.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Another 2 big heavy hitter games, though I'd argue Alan Wake looks as good as Arkham City.

To be fair, I do think the game looks pretty good - it's not that good from a technical viewpoint, but artistically I think it hits the mark.

I've got a quadcore i5-750 and Radeon 5850, it looks mediocre at best and still the framerate is jumping around all the time so it doesn't play smoothly. The jerkiness really annoys me and makes it difficult to get immersed into the game. I've completed Batman AA before this and it just looks so much better and still plays very smooth.
A game doesn't need to look stunning for me to enjoy, I'm also having great fun with Kingdoms of Amalur which is technically outdated as well but at least I'm getting a constant 60fps.

I'm using the exact same setup and Alan Wake is actually running smooth for me. I didn't have to reduce any setting either, so dunno.
Personally find the game also looks either about as good, or better, than the Batman games. Those games had to deal with more objects on screen/more open areas tho, so they're at a disadvantage.
Still, found this game to be gorgeous, 80% of it due to the lighting.

Really? When I played AC I had nothing but stutter even in DX9 that was never fixed, hell of a game but that is one game that didn't run well for me. Alan Wake on the other for me with it's great lighting effects runs smooth as silk all the time on my Phenom II quad 3Ghz and GTX470.
If this is what passes for mediocre I wouldn't mind more of it.

Yes you can. Is it just me or the dlc much harder then the main story.

I used the developer mode to unlock the Nightmare mode after getting annoyed at the "some pages only unlocking on Nightmare mode" mechanic. Playing Chapter 1 on Normal and again on Nightmare was an entirely different ballgame. Not only is avoiding the taken a pita, even trying to kill them takes ages compared to the Normal mode. And don't get me started on how fast we can die
1 and 2 are still amazing.
