for free users? please...
there was only megaupload and rapidshare.
all other filehosters suck.
plus it's always like this in the evening.
i can still download with 5,5mb/s over night. (without waiting)
why is everyone complaining? rs is still the best option for free users. just avoid weekends and evenings

if rapidshare is doing this then because of heavy server load.
ofc they aren't "saints" and want to make money but i think rs did a good job in the past and for free users it was the best alternative a very long time. (besides megaupload)
they had to do it so premium users won't get slow speeds because of soo many free users.
imagine all the mu people coming to rs in just a few days.
they had to do it...

Well, the way how it's now, they could've just ban free users. It's same effect.

freiwald, rs was much bigger than megaupload before they went full retard the first time. They have enough storage and bandwith. It's just rapidshare policy.
FUCKKKKKkkkk I want to download the new rom for my phone

RS pulling this kind of shit in the past is what made Megaupload so popular. Before, all you could see were RS links everywhere.. then RS turned to shit and people stopped using them, went over to other places like MU and even the FileXXXX sites like Serve and Sonic.

Instruct any noobcake RS uploader to use Multiupload next time, especially for ROMs.

so yeah. i guess what i expected would happen, DID happen... but its hard to feel happy about being right. i guess rapidshare didnt learn shit from the last time they pulled this.
it actually twice as retarded really, because they SAW how badly this shit turned out for them last time...

I'm rediscovering torrents these days, they're still good!

Somebody just showed me this:
http://www.alldebrid.com/
They have a 2 day free trial account, and it works perfectly. Just got a bunch of stuff from RS at full speed. Definitely considering buying a premium account, as it is essentially a bunch of premium accounts bundled into one, and for less than the cost of an RS account.
Are there any downsides to this that I haven't thought about?

none if you can pay a monthly reasonably price i guess, and ditch them as soon as the quality drops.

The downside to some of these premium providers is that they inevitably get banned by whichever filehost they're providing. It happens a lot and if you've just paid for your account, you're left out of pocket.

Not sure if anyone has noticed yet, but Fileserve has started offering filesharing again.

I like torrents
xD
No really I find it harder and harder to find a decent filehosting service :\
So I'm turning to the good old torrents

"We are confident that this will make RapidShare very unpopular amongst pirates and thus drive the abusive traffic away"
Okay, farewell RS then, the terrible "abusive traffic" was the only thing that was keeping you afloat

Seems like the good ol' Rapidshare is back in all its glory, full-speed and no annoying time-constraints for free users

The recent 30kB/s limit was so ridiculous
I really hope they keep it this way because rapidshare is still the most used file-hoster out there, almost everything has RS mirrors.
