There is definately a bug in 1.00 when the golden horde shows up sometimes. The player will get their armies and characters along with 5000 gold instead of the horde itself. 'Sides, there is a good chance that 1.00 will be unpatchable by official patches as the release version is 1.02b and Paradox is aware of that.

Sure there are bugs, but the game is playable and 1.02b is not a major patch.
One other weird thing i noticed is that my castillian king became portugese, is son is welsh (although he is king of portugal and a welsh county was inherited it does not make a lot of sense, capital is castillian, perhaps is has something to do with education).
No big deal i thought, but counties also change to the rulers culture, so welsh culture in spain pops up.

I think 1.00 was released in Sweden, a bit before the rest of the world got theirs.

1.0 is the retail game, amazon sent it out early. And crackers just ripped out the steam from it.
On the official forums, someone claims that the bug exists in retail version too (was someone with the CK2 'shield', meaning he actually has bought the game)

bad - 1. disbanding the army makes you spawn in your town instantly..
2. marriage takes only 1 week.
good - i can play anyone

1. bad yes.. not being able to call additional levy even worse, in what war you were only allowed to call army once, and never again without disbanding.. i find it rubish, then you have to call, fight disband, call again, disband, call blabla
2. takes 2 weeks most of the time..

@Smikis.
That's not quite right. If you raise the levies, go off to fight a war and (invenitably) get let's say 50% of your man killed - well, that's if I'm not wrong like hell - you can retrain those 50% in your realm and raise them again.
You have to imagine raising levies as "grabbing everyone that can hold a weapon" and you have to factor in your vassals will never hand over all of their levies to you.
btw. at least I'm not the only one who noticed: France needs to gtfo of Iberia

Just so you know, I managed to get my hands on an updated version of CK2. I tested it with the old crack from Skidrow and it works with it.

Have you tried w/o the crack? Because I can run the legit version without steam running.

One little anecdote that I forgot to mention:
Playing as Connacht, united Ireland and had a claim on Wales so I went to invade Wales.
And as soon as my 8k army landed in Wales I had a O.O moment.
There was this 14k army sitting. In Wales. I almost turned around and ran but then I noticed something. Of those 14k 11k were a holy order. I stomped the living crap out of Wales after that xD
(FYI: Holy Orders will not fight christians. At all)

I need to buy this game! Its not fun when the money\men bug appears. But low on cash until the 7th next month. Here is hoping for a new release with the 1.02 patch. But they are definitely getting money later on!

Ok, how the hell do I get rid of unwanted sons? Since the king of france thinks it's a nice idea to run Gavelkind succession can turn into a clusterfuck beyond comprehension.
Example (though it's stupid, I held way too many counties):
I hold a duchy and 5 or 6 counties. I have no sons but FOUR daughters. I die in battle.
Shit hits the fan. (this happened after my brother and my nephew stabbed me in the back when I tried to get the last county of my duchy. Still kinda puzzled as to how that worked out. Since they were my vassals)
I now play as the oldest daughter who holds the Duchy title and the families main province.
The other daughters get EVERYTHING else. Which amounts to 7 counties.
How the hell do I get rid of kids (except assassionation). Where's the "send this child to a monastery" button!?

It's called "Give landed title". Just revoke a bishop title, and put the kid there (church based settlements). He will become a priest, disqualifying him from succession (Lord Spiritual does not count, only when heading actual churches). At least it does in primogeniture, not 100% sure about gavelkind.

Well, the patch messed up the flags. Cleaned the caches, and all that stuff, and with the patch, they're messed up. Example: the King of France bearing another flag, instead of the flag of France.

Still waiting for a proper, unprotected release.
It's just retarded to have to depend on SKIDROW to crack patches when it's entirely unnecessary to crack anything in the first place.
But since SKIDROW has released something (admittedly very playable), the minor scene groups might not bother to.

The game IS unprotected. You can run it without Steam without applying the crack.

Confirmed unprotected. Paradox never protects their own games, this is also why I keep buying them =]
