it's implied in nearly every post in the thread by him, he thinks that free roaming with performance customization and cop chases =
is it really too much to ask for one free roaming racing game that isn't completely fucked over with NFS HP syndrome? it could have been good, but it just didn't want to, i'm surprised anyone was trolled into buying that one to be honest.
No, Leo implies that everything post HP2 is shit. And I agree for the most part. Underground 1+2, while not my thing with the F&F over the top shit, still had a decent-ish driving model. Better than all the crap after it at least. HP2 was already dumbed down compared to HP (and when I say HP, I mean NFS3, not that piece of crap we got in 2010); the entire cop part of it was pretty much removed (tap to win, woohoo). Neither of us considers Shift to be part of the NFS series. They're too different (in a good way) for that.
MW, Carbon, ProStreet, Undercover, Nitro, World, HP2010 and The Run are all fucking terrible. No driving model worth mentioning.

i mentioned underground 1 or 2? strange... i don't remember that and i wouldn't, honestly NFS MW was the pinnacle of the series, they'll probably never do that well again.
Exactly. There was a time when I used to like super-arcade driving games too, but now..I'm definitely more hard to please. I guess it's normal after all
There's arcade and there's shit like that though. The old TD games as well as the first few NFS games all had much more interesting handling than the shit I mentioned above.
Not realistic by any means, but unlike aforementioned shits, you actually had to brake into corners. Blur, SS and MW are entirely winnable without using the brakes even once. That's not arcade. Arcade is something like TrackMania or (oh dear) Flatout. Same goes for Derp 2 and 3: even an arcade rally game should not have to cars fucking glued the the road like that. If anything, you should be able to tap the brakes to initiate a "power slide".
TM is about as arcade as it gets, yet that game (all of them) is infinitely more challenging, interesting and above all, FUN than NFS:MW onwards or the CMR:DerpEdition games.
I completely agree with you . I'm not a Trackmania fan but I've played it a lot in the past and the game actually requires an amount of precision, skills and timing that paradoxically put it on par with the simulations.
It's arcade, but definitely not "noobs-friendly", just like you said
No helmet cam
Also the pop-in on the mountain background is pretty bad. Let's hope this is not in the PC version.

yeah, that would have been worse than even i expected, but it's 360 version, the first link is anyway, i don't understand enough french to even guess at the second.
honestly, not really seeing a reason to care here yet either, they're trying to take some sales from the yearly codemasters F1 title, big, fucking, deal, it was a decent game the first time, second it started getting old and added nothing.
also, inb4 "not F1 ", i'm aware, the point still stands.
about the only differences notable in that video from any of codemasters F1 2011 or 2012 (shit, is there three now?) was that the view was from inside of a cockpit of a car that could possibly be street legal instead of an F1, i saw no point in the second F1 game by codemasters as it really improved fuck all and felt like the same game a second time, well they did good patching out the drifting though, that at least i'll give them.
this one by contrast looks to be shaping up to be the same game a fucking third time with a ferrari license haphazardly slapped on and the cockpits reskinned.
