didnt know blizzard "owned" the rights to dota.
add : and i dont think there is a single mention of activision in the whole document (again for the slow, blizzard is self-ruling and independant from activision).

It was a free mod, but ActiBlizz are pulling the Russian* trick; "You did it using our assets on our game, therefore we own you.. erm.. it... yes... we own it"
*Alexei Pajitnov, developer of Tetris, lost the rights to his own game and never saw a single penny from the sales (of ANY version on ANY platform) because Communism YaY! he developed it using his work's computers and during work hours. It became their property and not his.

Sure they are, that's why they're called Activision Blizzard and not "Blizzard: an Activision Division" or just plain old "Blizzard"
Keep telling yourself that if it helps you sleep easier at night. So stick that "for the slow" bollocks right up your arse. They CLAIM to be self ruling, but they are hell aren't showing it -- and neither does any report regarding Blizzard, who are constantly titled Activision-Blizzard.

They assert that they "supported" the game in their suit.. What a joke. They didn't even consider us in the least for seven years.

He's right tho (how much i hate to admit it  ), last time i read something about this there was something in there that they both are under the same name, but both work independent from eachother with their own IP's..
Ill do a search and see if i can dig up where this was.

as far as I'm loving Valve, to be honest,I don't see the "DOTA" name belong to them,nor Blizzard(yes I know WC3 TOS said overwise),I'm not against DOTA 2 and I even want to get beta access,but maybe they should change the name,they were been criticized even by Riot games sometime a go.

I didn't saw them suing Gas Powered games,Riot and S2 Games by basically,making the same game,but with Different name,I agree they should not own the name,(court can say overwise though), but nor Valve as well.

Trust me, if Hitler made good games I would buy it. Who cares who made it. Now I am not saying the CoD good kind of games, but the games you think are good (not the general public kinds of good).

Icefrog made Dota what it finally became, a competitive eSports. You must realize that aspect.. We owe a lot to Euls, to the various developers of his era, Guinsoo ( now working for Riot ) almost managed to completely ruin the concept by ruining balance with stupid-ass heroes, and Icefrog finally polished the game and made it a decent competitive game. Why did Dota only really flourish, invaded China, etc, when Icefrog took a hold on it ?
You can argue that Dota is the property of nobody, etc. but in the end the one who has any sort of right on it is the one which made it grow and made it what it is today, and what it is to become tomorrow - Icefrog, and Valve. The idea itself belongs to nobody, just like any idea, only the final product does. And that product "belongs" to them.

sabin, honestly, can you seriously say, that for example starcraft 2, the way it was released, wasnt enough ? You really think the content in it wasnt worth 1 game ?
people are pissed at blizzard for weird reasons.
There is the mandatory wow bashing, because blabla this blabla that (heck, its just cool to be on the wow hate wagon lol).
Then there is the blind hate and fury against them, because they take their time and dont rush releases (and rightfully so), but yet, people bash on them for that.
And even tho they take their god damn time to release new games (and several times scrapped games, because they didnt deem them worthy of their name), they STILL getting called "money hungry" and what not, despite their behavior being the OPPOSITE of that.
Lets face it, the main hate (wagon trend) comes from WoW.
But lets look into it a bit more. One major argument many used, was that WoW stole everything from other games (EQ, AC etc etc). Yet people keep bashing it for its game mechanics. The very same mechanics used in pretty much every mmorpg before and since then. Hypocrit much ?
I know, i must be the biggest fanboy and blabla, but you know, im rather a fanboy (whichi am not, believe me), than some dumb hater who hates for hate sake (and for the need top fit in).
Now go on everybody and call me a stupid fanboy again or whatever.
And for Flagship, of course there is a connection between activision and blizzard, but not when it comes to controlling or influencing their titles or its publishing.
But what do i even bother, guys like sabin blindly hate blizzard just for hate sake, yet buy all of their games anyway 
yeah, thats a hypocrit

Agree.
For example KD of Amalur is an abomination, if WoWhaters like this game then they are hypocrites. I for one like KD of Amalur despite its shortcomings, every game have theirs, but blind hate is just being ignorant.
