They're not hard, sure, but you definitely can't spam M1 against them.

Why assume I'm extrapolating from only the experience on this forum? Obviously, I'm not.

You're either lying about your playtime or your playstyle, as 6 hours in you'll have had quite a few fights where spamming will get you killed.

You're right, sorry - I played 7 hours in total, and have met the Jottuns, that people were so worried about. I killed three of them just a half an hour ago with spamming + dodging, as the attack chain finisher does way more damage, it's worth getting there. They didn't hit me once. Didn't use spells, because they don't live up to my weapon DPS.

If you're having to doge, you're not simply spamming the melee attack. Skyrim can be played on the harder diffculties just fine by only spamming M1 and moving around. Same with Morrowind. Same with pretty much any RPG with action combat made.

Ettins forced me to change up my playstyle with my mage for sure. Jotuns were definitely a pushover for me otherwise. It was mainly the fact that they weren't alone. They always had 2-3 wolves with them that got me from behind and "staggered" my finisher castings.

Once I switched it up to my ice barrage spell, it staggered them and allowed me to dodge a bit easier and actually take them out one by one.

I did just fine in Risen using pretty much nothing but my standard attacks.

i dont get how someone could go through a game like this only mashing primary attack button. you can have 4 skills and two weapons equipped at once. you can flip between them on the fly to form combos. you spend your time getting xp so you can level them up and unlock new ones. why not use them all?

I don't use any damaging spells, for example, because they pale in comparison to what I can do in the same timeframe with the weapons.

I WISH the game required me to mix it up more, but it doesn't. Hence why it's piss easy.

W2 was definitely harder than this, and required more attention for combat, too.

Not yet, I was wondering the same thing. I guess we're just too stupid for this piss easy game Rolling Eyes Cool Face

Don't worry, I'm sure it will turn up during a quest. It's probably given to you once you fully progress through the Warsworn plotline.

You think so? I'm not sure. In the end it's hidden so I don't think they would give a key for a chest that can be found only with certain trained skill Smile I was thinking maybe some Warsworn NPC has it and it must be stolen from him/her but I can't pickpocekt anyone in the Keep, tehy always see me...

I really like the combat, its unique in many ways.

Im to tired after playing many hours to go into details, but the combat (on hard) after 10+ hours is nice, many fights give you a challenge . And that's more than what can be said about most games now a days, and to do it in a RPG, hats off!

One small flaw i would like to see fixed is the ability to spam-drink healing potions. Should be a cool down effect, would make many fight a lot more difficult, sure you can add your own cool down but its hard not to do it when you can...

Again really like this game, it beats Skyrim by far in fun factor for me.

I don't understand some of the complaints. You can spam attack (though I can't seem to do it against larger groups, guess I'm derp)? Try to add some variety by yourself. Health potion spamming too easy? Try not to use a potion every second. I't's Oblivion and its fast travel all over again. "OMG this game has fast travel, I have to use it!!! This game sucks".

I think my criticism wasn't only about combat being to easy. My main criticism is, what even most critics say (and it's an EA game, so that takes at least a bit of balls) - story is dull, setting is dull characters are dullest.

Are you captivated by the story?

The last game that captivated me with its story was Planescape, so I'm not a very good judge of captivating stories in games.
The problem is that this game is a console action RPG. It's Fable, it's Darksiders, it's a game that's supposed to be fun. The gameworld works, the characters are ok, the VA is fine and most of the underlying mechanics are great. It's not Witcher with its twists and characters, it's not Skyrim with its fully packed world and it's not Planescape with its glorious story, but it's great and fun. It's not trying to be revolutioniary (most of the mechanics are improved versions of other action RPGs), it's not trying to reinvent the wheel and it's not trying to present a gameworld with layers upon layers of intrigue, but it does excellently what it's supposed to be, great fun.
As for combat, it's as bad or good as any other RPG it can be compared to. I don't exactly see the problem there. Maybe the character I created sucks, but I'm having trouble when I get surrounded by a band of magic using monsters.

Basically, you're saying, what I'm saying: it's mediocre, nothing stands out. Innovative, it is not. Captivating, it is not. It's good to waste your time with, but that is all.

The difference, between how we see this mediocrity is: you say the glass is half full, I say the glass is half empty. Hence my score of 4/10.

Saying "it's not revolutionary" does not mean it's mediocore. You're selectively reading my post. As for games being revolutionary, I probably play only three of those in a very good year. I don't expect a revolution from every game I play.

Indeed... Games are meant to be fun. A fun game does not equal a mediocre game, since the two are, in a lot of ways, mutually exclusive. Mediocre graphics/story/sound affect the game, but many games can be fun despite such things.

Pickpocket them anyway, as long as you don't take anything it doesn't matter and I do it all the time to note down NPC's whom carry items of interest. Smile
(Found a key but I don't know if it's for that chest, I won it in a very difficult persuasion attempt.)

Worst story in an rpg that i have played in these last few years. The over complication of terms and definitions that spewed from Salvatore“s mind only masks and gives an impression of dept...

Otherwise, its a fun action rpg. Smile

Yea, and the fact the elves are usual, boring folks telling stupid fairy tailes doesn't help either... Unfortunetely Salvatore is as generic as fantasy author could be.

I found the whole House of Ballads quest-line / story to be fun, unique, and well written personally. The lore-stone dialogue surrounding it especially.

Spoiler if you haven't finished the House of Ballads quest line...

Actually i find the main story and the faction quests to be way above those of Oblivion (retarded main story, decent faction system -Shivering Isles was actually an order of magnitude better than the main game) and Skyrim (bland and uninteresting main story - started well but flattened quickly, and the factions quests were a bad joke), until now. And i didn't even reach the city of Rathir, nor entered the southern desert. The House of Ballads questline was really, really awesome.
