Sometimes you happen across that special sale where a game with huge potential bombed because it was released too early with too many bugs or cut features. For example Il-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover or Sword of the Stars II. When you try to get some qualified information wheather it's worth buying or not, all you can find is release reviews. Which could, or could not, be outdated information depending on post-release support from the developer. I tried Googling for some sites that specialize in re-reviews but couldn't find any. I know that a lot you are wondering about the current state of many recently released games.
Does this site exist? If it doesn't it really should!
One of the UK PC mags used to do that but it may have only been for the online parts.
Their reasoning was the same, some games on launch are a bug ridden mess but improve dramatically with a few patches.
Yeah I seriously think there's a market for a niche-site specializing only in re-reviews. It might even shift some focus onto continued post-release support from the industry benefiting us - the gamers - in the long run. I don't want to trawl through forums to get a lot of moronic opinions on wheather a game has improved enough to justify a buy.
Instead of finding an interesting niche people would rather just start another regular review site which has the exact same review of 100 other comparable sites. Sooner or later someone will make a site like that though.
