Got a weeks leave from work. Very Happy

But I'm busy with Skyrim, so wouldn't be able to start this one for now. For those who have played this game's demo on both, PC and 360, which version do you recommend?

Based exclusively on the horrid demos, the Xbox 360 version is superior.

Okie Doke! I was leaning towards the PC version mainly because of the higher frame rates and resolution, but if stability and bugs are a concern, then I have no issues with getting the 360 one.

Let me just chime in here and add that I had zero issues with the PC demo. It never crashed, it never bugged out, the framerate was perfect and the gameplay was spot on -- though it did feel a lot more comfortable and "ideal" with the 360 controller.

Does it require a strong configuration? My aging rig can only take so much. Razz

Honestly, I'm not the best person to ask about that - I recently updated to a spanktastic comp, so me saying "runs great here!" wouldn't be of any help.

Those are the official min/rec reqs.

I fell through the world and the whole console stopped responding (x360 demo) so there.

On the PC demo I sometimes had missing heads (they loaded after 5seconds) but I liked it more on the PC - framerate, resolution, a bit clunky mouse support and call me crazy but sound seemed to be better.
I played both demos with a a few hours delay, with headphones on and the voices on the 360 demo seemed to be of lower bitrate than on the PC. It could just be my ears but...

I'm still not looking forward to the full game...

Seems like my card is listed in the recommended specs, so that's a good sign. Will probably have to give the demo a whirl, just to see how it goes. With all these file sharing sites being stripped down, I'll have to rely on Steam download, which is fucking awful. Sad

The 360 demo intrigued me though. The game wasn't as bad as the initial trailers made it out to be.

I read that the demo is a old build:

I played 15 hours on xbox version- no bugs, runs great.

Played 7 hours straight now!
And well my first impression was that it didn't really invent or add anything to the RPG genre, but that it stole elements from both MMOs and SP RPGs like Skyrim. for example, the lockpicking system is exactly the same as skyrim with a different picture. And buying a house is also very similar, you can add crafting table for extra money etc.

I grew to really love it. Done tons of quests... no slacking off in those 7 hours! You feel way more awarded for lockpicking here than in Skyrim... you actually get great stuff instead of the same old crap you do in skyrim. The combat feels smooth and really nice. And in a way its very different from other RPGs out there.

It might look like WoW, there are next to no "kill 5 xxxx, collect 10" etc.

7.5/10 so far Smile

Hey

I have a problem. I'm on LT 3.0 and newest dash, patched topology data with abgx 1.06, burned with ihas on verbatim at 2.4 speed and when installed game crashes with Disc authorization failed error.
What may be the cause of that?

Fallout 3. Wink

I like how the game can't make up it's mind whether it wants to do the dialog wheel or list. Laughing

The camera is... well, not good and the hud/2d menus is fugly as hell - it feels like it's from an era long dead and it makes the game look like some cheap mmo. And it's even worse for the minigames witch look like some cheap mobile games.

The fact that there is no inventory screen, and you have to go to the main menu in order to access all that stuff, makes it pretty shitty as well.

Overall some really weird (and extremely ugly) design choices in this game. Yuck!

Got to agree... inventory, weapon, 1st or 2ndary weapon, choose. Well at least LB makes things a little easier for consuming different potions.

I like the combat and the quests so ill keep playing.

What's the required dash on XBox? or in other words, can it be patched for LT 2.0?

How is this game story-wise? I hate games that use freedom of "doing whatever you want" as an excuse to have little to no story and bad pace/story progression, and some of the marketing phrases used to promote this game make me suspicious...

Not sure what dash I am currently on as I am at work but I patched this down to LT2 and it works fine. Haven't updated my dash since LT2 came out I think.

Huh? Wait what, it doesn't have to be patched using xbox creator from LT 3.0 to LT 2.0?? :O
We dont have to apply the AP 2.5 replay data to it??

Played it for 18 hours... in 2 days. FUCK, I needed this break. But well... as I said this game REALLY grows on you. I like to explore pretty much everything... and if you do, it will take almost as long to finish this as Skyrim. Iv seen 1/3 of the world in 18 hours... and iv been constantly moving Neutral

Done 70 side quests, lvl 21... and well feels like iv just scratched the surface Laughing

Edit: and yeah, seems like im gonna be a rank 38 for some time in BF3 lol

got my ihas and my verbz this morning and been playing this all day until now. Really great game, the gfx and the gui _could_ be better, but it looks good imho. Gameplay is fun and fighting doesnt get stale. The sidequests are all well crafted too. A good rpg fix after Skyrim.

This game is everything you need to get yourself over the wait time before D3 release Smile

This game is awesome. It's like a cross of WoW/Fable but without the hangups and with awesome fighting system and story.

I played the demo, unlocked all the item for my full game.

People on XBL who're playing this backup now are idiots. You'll get banned, the release date in US is 2/7!! So no earlier than tuesday of next week!

Naw, pre-release gaming isn't really a ban issue these days - so many unscrupulous stores sell titles earlier than street date. However; I do envy the fuck outta all of ya! FFS, I want this game! Very Happy

Well people still got banned when MW3 got leaked and GOW3.

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/numb-thumbs-blog/2122700/playing-cod-mw3-banned-xbox-live

c4e still says pre-release gaming is a great way to get banned. I'd like to see an article that proves otherwise.

I've played each and every title I own "pre" release and never been banned. I'll take my own experiences over somebody else's word any day of the week Little Johnny Blogs walks into a store and purchases a game, unbeknownst to him that the clerk was selling it four days prior to "official" release date, and you're telling me that MS don't give a shit and would ban him for playing it? I have my doubts. I'm not saying it's impossible or doesn't happen, only that I simply don't believe it - and the claims of "omg!! MS banz0red me for playing Halo early!!1" are simply bupkiss nonsense made up by people who pirated the game.

Now, playing a pirated/downloaded copy is different.

However;

http://www.geek.com/articles/games/activision-steps-in-threatens-to-ban-early-modern-warfare-3-players-2011114/

You'll find it was ACTIVISION that threatened to ban people from MW3. Not MS and not XBL.

I don't like how RPG's on console all go the way of WOW/Fable/Dragon Age II -OR- JRPG. :/

It's all visual content and "Oh yeah cool! Yeah, skill tree, cool perk cool! Whoa big boss cool!" made for mentally 12-year olds. Whereas good characters, character relations, deep story with multiple selections (Arcanum, Fallout 2, Baldur's Gate) are less commonplace. Skyrim and Fallout 3 are two games, but this looks like a game I'd typically dislike. :/
