MGS2 is really good and short. I remember playing pc version

I was really enjoying MGS2 'till near the end, the amount of story they packed in is ridiculous
MGS3 pretty much blew me away though, I wasn't expecting it to be so good, fairly slow start I think but it was so much more than I thought it would be, plus I got it for less than half price only 2 weeks after release, which was nice

just the ps2/psp (peace walker is a psp game) games rendered in HD... Didn't notice anything new. Obviously it supports real 5.1 though, MGS3 was only in dolby pro logic II and MGS2 dolby digital in cutscenes only.

Is Peace Walker worth a play through on 360?
I guess its story is a bit more realistic (like Snake Eater) and not as dumb as MGS2's and MGS4's story, right?

I had high expectations and so far I can't say I like Peace Walker.
There is no body dragging, there is no walking along walls, interrogated soldiers have no voices, codec is fucked up, no saving during missions (but they are VERY short and small so it's not a big deal) and so on and so on...
The one thing that I really find irritating is that it's cut up into so many little pieces (levels) that it feels just like a big series of VR missions. After a few minutes of sneaking you're back again in the main menu (Mother Base) selecting weapons research and assigning the crew into research teams, then you go and select the next mission and choose your gear loadout.
You're always interrupted with the Mother Base thing, it doesn't have good flow and I can't take the game seriously.
I'll finish it that's for sure but I guess I expected too much from a PSP game.

It's quite impressive on the PSP though
I bought it and never played it past the start, so can't comment on the game itself but the PSP was only inbetween the PS1 and PS2 in power

peace walker is great, but the story is not on the realistic side like MGS3 and it doesn't play like other MGS titles. it's actually more like an RPG where you loot stuff and research new equipment, etc.
other MGS titles also don't allow you to build your own metal gear, manage soldiers and play online coop though so...
I'd definitely recommend trying it because I thought it was awesome.
the graphics obviously come from the psp so it's not going to look as good as the other games but still, if you care about graphics so much what are you doing playing ps2 and psp games anyway?

Damn played about 12 hours of MGS2 HD this weekend, amazing game. Very nice story, which leaves you guessing  There are some lame parts (1st person shooting is horrible imo, sometimes they force you too) and the controls are not intuitive at all...
Still not done though  Spoiler: | i just exited the interrogation room (MGS1 nostalgia  ) at the Arsenal. |
Can't wait to try out mgs3 and peacewalker when i'm done

I am not using TB, this is all I know. The PS3 was already JB and I do not know how to check with custom FW I have.
When I power on the PS3 I have to hold the power button until I hear a beep, and an original game is always in the PS3.

I'm trying to play the metal gear games, I do realize I'm playing these ones atleast a decade after they are released, but I am a bit confused. I've played MGS2 for about 1.5 hours now, all I'm left with is "WTF is this shit!? Is this the world famous Metal Gear Solid?" . Feels so corny and the controls are just horrible. Is MGS3 much better?

Same here. May be I just gave up too early, but it was clear that I wasn't ready for the controls and awkward camera angles at all.
