Poor Neona? None of the games I play have the DRM in them.

Quote:
Tom Clancy's HAWX 2, Might & Magic: Heroes 6 and The Settlers 7

These are the only games affected. Brotherhood had the DRM removed a year ago I think, and Revelations didn't have any DRM.

They had, but it was removed. And Revelations was released with no DRM.

BTW, I'm not sure what the fuss is about, considering that if Steam decided to migrate their servers, ALL steamworks games would have been affected (I think), and probably all Valve games as well (TF2). Shit happens. Yeah, it sucks, but still, Steam > no DRM for me.

Eventually this DRM crap will die. Just like StarForce did.

Part of me wants to say that valve will not handle that as poorly as ubishit is doing by setting up some kind of temporary infrastructure while the servers are moved.
The other part, however, remembers what happens when you try to activate a game in the middle of most steam major sales... Laughing Sad

What puzzles me is their payment processing servers can always handle the load. But not the servers responsible for activation Troll Face

They truly offer superior service Laughing

Not always, I remember a few holiday sale days where you couldn't even pay for a game.

I thought Ubi's online DRM was history ...

Even Silent Hunter 5 (the first one with this shit) can be played in offline mode now.

Who knows.

If Steam were to migrate their servers you would still be able to play the games in offline mode.

That's not a possibility with this case.

Sometimes I cannot play legit games because "the servers are busy" or "the action cannot be completed", which I guess is related to server overload.

It is gone from their most recent titles.

Anno 2070, Assassin's Creed Revelations, Driver San Francisco, Just Dance 3 and The Settlers Online will not be affected, remaining fully playable online and offline, Ubisoft said.

*unf* *unf* *unf* *unf* *unf*

happy to have a legit copy, and looking forward to playing it again once i.. *sob* have enough spare room on my hdd... i really enjoyed that game immensely... and ive heard it now can actually hit resolutions HIGHER than just a lowly tv resolution, unlike when it was released Very Happy

I am glad that Anno 2070 was the only exception for me. I would be pissed if I was about to have a week playing any of those games. Thank you Ubi for making sure for me to never even consider buying any other game of yours. Keep up the good work.

I think they may be "repeating" what was said in the article I posted. However he said it COULD take up to a week and it also could be shorter time.
