lol what a fucking joke. Then again I doubt these guys would have been able to make a good game anyway, I bet it's gonna run poorly, be full of bugs and have horrible animations and controls

Good god, they just ripped the game apart. :/ You're better off playing the 1.13 mod for JA2 than this shit. The modders ADD things to the original game. FOR FREE!

I doubt the game will be even worth pirating. Sad

Nostalgia = $$$

And don't forget the good old "introduce newcomers to the glorious JA universe through an exciting revisited (synonym for "streamlined") gameplay" Laughing

Ohh, and I just found out that there's no inventory screen on the world-map. Meaning you have to pick everything up manually per sector...
They couldn't even include such an obvious thing which made game-play much more fun/smooth.

Damn i'm getting confused...

Did JA2: Reloaded become JA:BiA or are they seperate games?

And there is still JA:online which looks better in my opinion and at least still turn based.

What about JA3, did that get canned or rolled into one of these games or what?

Reloaded and BiA are the same game.
Reloaded was supposed to be a complete remake of JA2 with updated graphics but when they realized they couldn't deliver they changed the name of it to BiA.

Release date is pushed forward to the 7th for some reason, nothing is posted about this on their website. Just that steam has it listed 2 days earlier... Surprised

Why bother posting that? We don't really care about it anymore. Sad What a clusterfuck of a game this will be.

I know, but I can't help to think there might still be a tiny glint of hope for this game.
I love JA2 and 1.13 to death and still play them lots.
That's why I can't help following this turd and hoping it won't be as bad as it seems....

That's kinda like hoping there willl be another PROPER Wizardry game. Speaking of which, I have a save game from W8 lying around with a 4 character party. I went all-hybrids in this one but their magic is SORELY underdeveloped. :/ I just don't have the patience to grind up those magic skills anymore.

They removed IMP?! That was one of the coolest things in JA2... Tried the demo, was okish to mediocre... lets see how the full game fares. But im hugely disappointed right now. The 3D portraits are fugly, bring back the 2D portraits!!! Its not really expensive to hire a good 2d artist to reimagine the original Mercs and it would add a lot of style.

The camera feels shit. Why have a 3D world when you cannot even control it? It seems to be on a bad angle or something, I feel like i have no proper control or I need to be zoomed out more.

Mindboggling isn't it...
I can't figure out why the fuck they went in that direction but they did, same with alot of the things in the game.

argg, i keep going back to it hoping its gets better but it only gets worse. Sad

I had some fun doing some stealth with magic but its really inconsistent. found a nice bug though, you cant put the silencer on the rifle but if you put it on the desert eagle, unequip it and equip the rifle the silencer stays on, and works. Smile

too bad the enemies can spot you 10 miles away lying behind a tree.

In fact thats the worst thing about this game, its just long range slug fests, as soon as you kill one guy everyone comes running an snipes you from far away, even when you're behind cover and cant hit them.

Also the stats lie, it says 'certain to hit' and 100% damage but does random damage and doesnt always hit.

I'll wait for JA:online and try that. Sad

the gameplay itself isn't that bad, but the mission to demo the game with is just the worst
why would they do that, unless they purposefully don't want people to play it?

They take out parts of the original game, that defined the title and turn it into a real time affair instead?.. Is it me or is that a bad idea, as suddenly when you go down that route, your game is now competing with the likes of the Dawn Of War Franchise or ton of other psuedo realtime/tactics games.. I haven't tried the demo yet by the way it has to be said, just watched a few vids.

At least when they '..innovate' franchaises like syndicate etc they put in some nice shiny graphics as some measure of compensation. Whats the point of making this game 3d when it serves no other gameplay purpose other then to highlight how cheap your 3d graphics engine is..

What I don't understand is, this franchaise is never going to be a mass appeal one anyway, and the chances are the majority of those interested in JA would have been the players and fans who had played the originals. So why not just make a game to please those people instead of putting them off from buying the game?. At least you would be more then likely make some cash off of those people because they are your best bet when your final game doesn't look so hot.. Sad

edit: going to try it now actually instead of just ranting on here hah
