Play with an infiltrator on the hardest difficulty and the game becomes way more enjoyable.
Yep, I remember when whan we talked about it . The problem is that I'd need to restart the game and replay the first 10-15 hours which is honestly quite annoying :/
It is the job that is never started that takes longest to finish.
Seriously, start playing it because once you do it won't be that annoying. Also, the Kasumi and Shadow Broker DLCs are worth playing more than the actual game.

--> The 2 links for the unlockers got broken.
Could you re-upload them to multiupload?
I still have 2 copies, but I don't know whether they are the latest versions of the unlockers.
DLC Unlocker + most up-to-date XML file w/ all the DLC names included, well except for that comic book thing. Might have to run it twice to get it to work, at least I did on Vista x64. njoy the dlc's!
Since there will be no more DLCs for ME2, I hope Leo and theotherguy involved will release the source code for this unlocker. I'm really eager to see how it works, since it doesn't actually require an Internet connection, but does require active Ethernet port with a cable plugged in... does it read adapter's MAC address and decrypts DLCs using that as key or what?
jeez, I'm on my 2nd playthrough in preparation for the finale and just finished Horizon
And now, both Lair of the Shadow Broker AND Arrival triggered already!
I haven't even seen Liara yet, and the final mission is days away..
What a major fuckup on Bioware's side
... ok so i havent played it in a while so im a bit fuzzy on some of the finer story points, and i did play it 'in order', but is there any reason arrival cant happen before the end of the game? i mean nothing in arrival should be a surprise, narrative wise, given that the core of the me2 story is pretty much revealed at the end of horizon... and its a pretty self-contained story...
and as for liara, dont you need to meet her before you can actually begin the mission? i wouldnt have thought you could go straight into it without meeting liara first, or?
Strange bug then. And what about arrival? is that a bug too?
Can't do anything about arrival triggering, shadow broker seems to be triggered by accessing the terminal inbox.
I hope the game doesn't skip dialogue as long as I postpone it. On to Illium then..
Im also on my 2nd playthrough atm and I got the same thing with lair of the shadow broker and it seems to be that way when I read about it. I went and met liara after but didnt chose the dialogue that trigger the quest since someone wrote that the suicide mission would make the end dialogue for shadow broker different.
I havent activated arrival yet so dont know about that one thou.
There's no bug. Both DLC's have different bits of dialogue depending on whether the main story is finished or not.
And "lore"-wise, there's no reason why they can't take place on either side of the suicide mission, since, as chiv said, the stories are pretty much self-contained.
The quest appears in the journal immediately after Horizon. Mission starts after you choose the appropiate dialogue option with her AND go the her apartment.
Yeap, there is no way not to trigger LOTSB, even if you ignore the messages, as soon as you land on Illium the objective gets triggered.
But its possible to do all the Liara hacking sidequests first, as long as you don't choose the "lets get the shadow broker" dialogue option.
As for Arrival, I just told Hackett that my main mission has a higher priority and I'm gonna do it when there is time.
And that is at the very end of the game - after all you get summoned to Earth after annihilating the batarian system so it ties in nicely with Mass Effect 3.
It's true that you can theoretically do Arrival before the Collector Base without creating some kind of paradox in the story but it would feel kinda strange.
I have to keep a few sidequests open for the post-endgame anyway, or else I won't get to finish all the Legion dialogue options.
Another bad decision on Bioware's side, Legion is recruited way too late (he should have joined Shep's team on Horizon or the Collector Ship). As soon as you get the Reaper IFF you only have 1-2 mission left before the entire crew is abducted and if you don't get to the Omega 4 relay right away your crew will die off one after another.
My plan is to do Tali's loyalty mission and Legion's loyalty mission before the final mission.
And I'm gonna keep Overlord, Arrival and two Systems with sidequests for the post-endgame.
Should be enough to get all the dialogue with Legion finished this time. (which is the best dialogue of the whole game)
Gonna hold off 2 of those 4 systems:
Hades Nexus
Minos Wasteland
Pylos Nebula
The Shrike Abyssal
Their maps can be purchased at Baria frontiers on Illium and I know that they include at least 1 side mission per system, which should be enough to advance Legions dialogue.
I dont think there is an all-in-one release. Even on the PS3 you have to buy some of the DLC.

Well, I may be mistaken, but completing side-missions does not trigger new dialogues. However, if you speak to Legion after the iff mission, his loyalty mission, suicide mission, lotsb, overlord AND arrival as you said you will, that should be enough to cover it.

speaking of hilarity, bring legion along to tali's loyalty mission. its just hilarious seeing a geth standing beside her as she tries to honestly tell the other fishbowl heads that she would never bring active geth parts into the flotilla
They might in ME2. It wasn't like that in the original, but I think side-missions triggered more dialogue options in the sequel, if I recall correctly.

On my first playthrough I had to use the Hammerhead sidequests to finish Legions dialogue and it definitely worked.
But this time I'll surely get the vehicle and the shadow broker base before the final mission (and even before most loyalty missions).
There are 5 or 6 dialogue sequences with Legion, should be enough even if the sidemissions don't count.
1) after IFF mission
2) after Legion loyalty mission
3) after Tali loyalty mission
4) after endgame
?) Sidequest 1
5) Overlord
?) Sidequest 2
6) Arrival
