Valve's forums were hacked 1-2 months ago, no?

Hmmm... Interesting.

Are those the same forums which require your Origin password? I thought the social.bioware.forums required you to log-in with your Origin password, but not sure about the other forums.

Ah well, I'll change my Origin password anyways.

New reply, rather than editing above so the thread gets bumped. Smile

To answer my own question above, this is the message you're greeted with when you go to log-in to the EA forums.

"Your account will work on EA and Origin™

In the coming months your EA Account and profile will be upgraded to a new Origin™ Account. Your identity, order history and preferences will remain unchanged and we will notify you via email when this transition takes place."

Not sure what kind of hack it was, nor if anything got stolen (and I would hope the passwords are encrypted and all that), but since EA Forum password = EA Origin password, it might be wise to change your Origin account password.

hahah... To be honest, it is quite distressing. Tried to change my password in the Origin client 2 or 3 times, and it worked. I just couldn't log in. Now going through the forum's own password reset system, and it turns out the maximum password length is 16 characters. What the fuck? My Steam password is something like 20 characters. Bloody EA.

The stress, it's too much man.

Not sure. Like I say, I don't know what kind of hack it is, nor if passwords were stolen. But I'd say this is far more dangerous than the Valve forums being hacked; with Valve, it was seperate log-ins for client and forum. But because of EA using the same passwords across everything... *shrugs* I'd definitely change your Origin password.

Oh, and, yes, I was right about the social.bioware.forums - they use the same password as the EA forums and Origin.

Already changed them passwords.

And I guess it was probably a good idea since I've just remembered that I accessed that social.bioware thing in the past.

1 account with BF3 and 1 account with a few free games from their fuckup a few months ago(Interinactive, never forget <3).

Have a couple of retail games that I COULD register along with BF3 on that account (Mass Effect, Crysis 2, MoH Allied Assault, Crysis) but it's stuff like this that reminds me that I'm better off with just BF3 on that account.
