But It’s about the cost of testing for the multitude of PC configs, and distribution of a PC box retail version. So basically, it’s a cost benefit decision that comes down to the publisher. PC Silent Hill is Konami’s call.” said Silent Hill: Downpour’s creative director, Brian Gomez.

That's easy to fix. Release it on Steam.

Konami do not release their PC games on retail anyway. Razz
Their two latest PC games (excluding PES): SH: Homecoming and SAW were released exclusively digitally on Steam. (although SH:Homecoming saw a limited retail release only in Europe).

Has the game had a PC version confirmed? It looks totally not bad judging by that developer demo.

Homecoming was Region locked also. but now it's seems to be open for most/rest of the world, nevertheless I didn't touch it.,because of time/better horror games to play,I still hope for Downpour release though,it seems to improvement on the series.

I must say Im wanting this game even more now after that dev demo...Im liking everything that guy said especially puzzles , atmosphere vs. combat ratio ... + exploration and side quests. Everything looks much better now .. not to mention that weapons degrade ( no hud for that or health ) , almost 50 weapons , puzzles difficulty.. really promising imo..

Agreed, it has the potential to be extremely interesting, at least gameplay-wise; the atmosphere seems to be great as well...still hoping for a PC release, I'm kinda confident it will come..eventually. If it doesn't, well, patience Razz

It's good to see that SH retained it's old style horror atmosphere and is sticking to that, unlike Resident Evil Sad

As I said above I think we will see PC version later...almost every major SH title was on PC , excluding handheld versions. Smile SH1 on emu.. Razz

I bet the PC version will follow soon. I don't think Konami would like to break the trend started by SH2 and not release a PC version now. Another thing going for it is that the game is running on the Unreal Engine 3.

1 and 2 are still amazing.

Absolutely. It's the only real survival horror this year could offer for now. Sadly... Sad

I've tried searching and can't find one single news source stating a PC port is incoming.

I thought that since the game was UE3 based it would have come out by now Sad

The Game was slammed by the critics and sold very poorly tbh for me Silent hill is dead since homecoming. Origins was the last good game and it wasnt evern a real Silent Hill. The western devs Konami uses now for the franchise have destroyed everything good about it. Just bring back a real Silent Hill from Team Silent or let it stay dead.

played pretty much every silent hill game, and the worst by miles was homecoming.. utter wank, poorly optimised on pc etc etc... downpour was a return to old form, but with a twist of some newer ideas from the series.Im not saying it was earth-shatteringly good, but after the steamer that homecoming was... downpour was a step in the right direction, team silent or not.

+1 , Homecoming was not that bad tho...it was poorly executed on PC. I enjoyed Downpour , many great ideas and as you said a step in the right direction..and again it was technically fucked up , they kinda fixed it later. I rated it 7.5 , pretty solid and worth the play.. KONAMI needs to hire better devs , SH franchise is way bigger than entire Vatra games..

despite terrible clunky controls in "fight mode" downpour was quite good
