Shh? SHH! Hear that? It sounds like… ? No it can’t be. It must be a baby giraffe or – no, there it is again. It’s definitely the sound of someone embedding a Youtube link of the Resident Evil 6. Run! Save yourselves!
I love the ever-increasing absurdity of the Resident Evil games. This one involves a zombie president, 70’000 walking dead, a roundhouse kick to a zombie’s chest, someone tallying up how much they get for killing monsters, and DRAMATIC ROOFTOP BATTLES. It all looks a bit Gears of War. Resident Evil 6 is coming to the PC after being beta tested on consoles in November. |

Silent Hill is where it's at now if you want a 3rd person survival and atmospheric horror game. The Resident Evil franchise has been going down the drain for a while now. The best in the series was by far the first one. Actually 1,2,3 were the best. 4 was OK for what it was but it began the Gears Of Warization process. I understand that they had to somehow overhaul the franchise but my biggest gripe is that it's at the expense of the atmosphere that made the first games so great.
RE5 was a piece of shit and RE6 look like it will as well. I will still play it because it's a RE game but my expectations are pretty low after watching the trailer.

While I DID enjoy RE5 and I played a ton of it in co-op, it has a good story and overall it's a good game, but it is NOT survival horror, or horror at all. Yes, it has some sort of zombies and all, but it's pure action. There is no survival horror anywhere.

Can you blame them? It's obviously what the market wants. Supply and demand.

It all depends on the perspective that you're looking at, as a developer I would probably do the same thing, nobody would say no to moniez after all.
But...the truth is, we're "just" gamers, old school gamers. And we loved the series until it started to follow the pewpew path, so we have all the legal rights to be pissed off. I hope you agree

Did you time travel from nine years ago? I hate to break this to you, but in your future Team Silent is going to disband, and Silent Hill is going to self destruct harder than Resident Evil.

I agree, the first film was thoroughly enjoyable and #2 was good too (though a little overdone) but it's been all downhill since.

Well, based on the trailer the Chris campaign looks underwhelming but...
Resident Evil 2 = Leon = Awesome
Resident Evil 4 = Leon = Awesome
Resident Evil 6 = Leon campaign = Awesome???

Say whatever you want but very very few games have come close to outdoing the brilliant opening Resident Evil 4 had..... it pulled no punches whatsoever and still shocks first time players who think they are in for a one hour tutorial.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Even the derpas in most sites I visit prefer 4 to 5, it's a no brainer.

I liked the 3rd one a lot too (yeah, still worse than the first two), but the 4th movie was really retarded. I'm more of a fan of the RE movies than the games, so this Gears of Evil shit doesn't affect me as much.
