So what does that test show?
That the GTX460 is the bottleneck in those games... simple.. understand your hardware bro!

Not to mention none of the games in that battery of tests are ones that are very CPU depedent. The test isn't a very good one for this reason. Those are all heavily GPU dependent games.

Throw BF3, or any number of heavier titles into the mix and it would be a completely different story.

Horrid Warzone FPS is a widespread problem. Just because some people play fine on their PCs doesn't mean that the problem isn't there.

i'll do a resume, cause it seems that we are kinda lost in making fun on me vs swtor discussion.

i said that for games, is not a big difference between an stock i5 and a oc q6600 on my hardware (gtx 460 + 1280x1204 or 1440x900 game resolution -> two monitors). i need to change video card and monitors to see a difference q6600 vs i5.

i said that i dint had any issue in swtor with fps (witch stayed at 60 fps anywhere) beside warzones. from my pov gfx in warzones are broken. and thats all. btw, i canot test it, someone disabled ui in warzone (ctrl - u ?), and he said that fps jumped back to 60.

and to be constructive i added this, based on my swtor experience :

i would prioritize, no particular order :
abilitys delay.
all thing on ui can be moved/hided/resized. (if they keep no addon policy)
simple macro support, not rift style. (/cast [target=focus] heal , /cast [target=mouseover] heal or cc) and so.
fetching more people in an instance to feel like you are playing a mmo.
remake crafting from ground.
remake ah
a way for people to find people who want to do instances. /1 works on the same planet. dont work when someone is on another planet/fleet/whatever.
dual spec.

Once again this fully depends on what game, CPU intensive game you would see the difference between yours and i5, GPU dependend not so.
Now it's KNOWN that MMORPG's are CPU intensive, so people getting low fps in warzones is prolly due to CPU bottleneck.

Is that graph average FPS? I went from Q6600 @ 3GHz to i5 2500K @ 4.5GHz and I could feel the difference with HD6870 at 1080p resolution in many games, even though the average FPS didn't went up all that much. Perhaps it was some micro stuttering. Some frames might take a bit longer to render with Q6600 CPU. That would explain why average FPS didn't go down but I was still ale to spot the difference between those two CPU quite easily.

Decided not to re-sub after the free month is over tomorrow.

The story is great, but there's really no point in sticking around after it's done. Sure, you can start another character and experience another story, but you end up grinding past 90% of the same content again, as the story specific missions only really make up about 10%.

Companion specific backstory was also embarrassingly thin/non-existant.

With today's patch, and warzone queue times being 30+ minutes for 50's, I'll be damned if I'm sticking around to twiddle my fucking thumbs and playing for about 20 minutes out of every hour.

I might re-sub in a few months assuming they've added a considerable amount of voice-overed class specific story, otherwise, no way.

Also, not to rain on Sin's parade but ehrm....500k + Very Happy

So true. I'm also having problems with them. And let's be frank here, even if Q6600 is old, there's really nothing about 16 people on one frickin map that should require so much horse power. I could understand 160, even 80... but 16? Many other games did it alright and managed to stay perfectly playable on a lowly C2D. Why can't this one? Esspecially since it really doesn't look all that good (and changing settings changes nothing performance-wise in warzones). Just sloppy programming, nothing else.

Damn those BHs are op, they dish out a ton of damage. Compared to my JK/Sith Warrior I feel like im running around with a glowing stick. And my JK is lvl 50 with almost entirely battlemaster gear.

This game went from semi-decent PvE levelling, to a massive PvP failure with blatant carrot design.

It deserves to tank in a very big way.

If you dont read all the (legit) criticism, then it can be fun for a while. But lets be honest - its not even close to wow. Im playing ~10mins a day, just for a break between my sc2 1on1´s. This game made me want to reactivate my wow account again, which is a bad thing. ^^

Heh, over at the PC Gamer forum I got a lot of flack for daring to call out a PC Gamer writer as talking shit for comparing SW:TOR to KOTOR. The guy honestly said "it's not far from being KOTOR 3, 4 & 5". I said he was delusional if he thought to compare the superficial team mate dynamic with that of KOTOR where you had full control over what they did, where they walked, an entire team of them, gear that wasn't clear cut for a particular person (heck, in SW:TOR they even TAG items for specific team mates, can you get more lame?), etc.

Seriously, if professional writers talk shit like that, we know they have no clue any more about games.

The game is indeed filled with flaws - trying to convince someone it's KOTOR set in a MMO world is lying through your teeth - either that or you have to be delusional.

How can a monthly sub of a game that launched on 20th december end on 17th of january? If anything, it was some kind of a bug under account management. Wouldn't suprise me, really. Their customer support is simply horrendous - in no way ready for a game this size.

I love this game.. as far as PvE questing, crafting and leveling is concerned. Still doing my Jedi Sentinel currently at level 42.

I can see how SW:ToR isn't favored by WoW-PvP-players. But from a single player/co-op PvE perspective WoW doesn't even come close as far as story, questing, environments and legacy is concerned. WoW's strength was always PvP and group playing. SW:ToR doesn't require grinding, farming etc. to enjoy fully.

ps. this was all written as my personal subjective opinion.

Well, probably. The success of MMO's are entirely dependent on the PvP side of the game to keep people subscribing, and that seems to be woefully lacking.

On the other hand a lot of people probably got the game for reasons no longer valid. Some probably hoped/expected it to be similar to Kotor 1/2, other probably hoped/expected it to be a replacement for WoW, neither being true. It can go either way. Population stabilise after initial surge, population rise when PvP issues have been sorted out and new content added, or the population will continue to decline like with so many other MMO's. Perhaps it will go F2P in a couple of months/2013.

We'll see.
