There was a Steam client beta rescently and oddly enough a "test beta", using that second one (Which probably should not be visible to normal users.) made Kingdom of Amalur appear in the game list (Still need purchasing though, it's not free or anything.) and digging around the EA specific appID's I did find that Amalur is indeed on Steam. Smile

EDIT: Actually it seems that both of these cause Amalur to appear, finding info wasn't easy but apparently the test update is for some press related event to Skyrim and doesn't really do anything for normal users, maybe Creation Kit or DLC related but I've not found any DLC listings yet in the .blob file, found the Creation Kit earlier though but I already mentioned that.

For PC as well? I thought that PC demo will come a bit later, that today is demo for consoles.

For all those asking about when the PC and Playstation downloads will become available, we have no new information. We are simply waiting on the platforms to update and will keep this page informed on when the demo is live. Thanks for your patience and interest.

Fucking amateurs. How about making a fucking phone call to anyone who's responsible for releasing the demo and find out you incompetent dicks, it doesn't autoupdate itself.

PS3 version should arrive tomorrow with the PSN weekly update I guess, X360 version was released this morning from what I saw on X-Box Marketplace, unsure about the PC version but they keep mentioning Origin so I've been checking on that now and then.

Well it's evening here now and I assume it's following US timezones so it'll likely be night when it's released (Going a bit by Valve and their Steam releases which occur around 19.00 to 20.00 - no wonder people use VPN's and such to unlock early.), if the PC version is released today at all but it will probably will.

Ouch, almost 3 hours left on the download. Only going at 300k. I normally get at least 5MB or greater with this connection, often times 8+. It's getting hammered.

Edit: Just shot up to 6.5MB. Almost 50% now. Yay!
Edit 2: Much better.

Finished downloading, it requires you to sign in into EA when it starts similar to DA2, will have more detail shortly.

EDIT: Basic but existing options to adjust, no AA support.
(Hello SMAA plugin.)

EDIT: Opting out of the statistics collection is possible after logging in and that (logging in) also unlocks those bonus items for Amalur retail and I suppose the upcoming ME3 demo works in the same way.



(Main menu is not shown here, it's a in-game screen or such with story mode, options and quit as the available selections.)

EDIT: EA servers are not responding, can't play. Razz

Ah there is offline mode by forcefully exiting the login screen.

EDIT: Post-processing causes the screen to black out, odd driver issue there.

Anyone else having fucking black bar around the whole game screen? I refuse to play like that. It cuts the view by like 10% of the screen and looks LIKE SHIT.
