I'd really like to see a test comparing performance and how much each product/solution affects the system during normal use. Just imagine that they scan every file that you download, start or unpack.

MSE however does turn on automatic update every time it detects if it's turned off, wich i rather keep turned off (just incase MS updates something to counter the daz loader).

You could've used Daz loader after you got the "not genuine" notification. No need to reinstall.

Avira Free Antivirus is the best.

And for independent reviews of antivirus programs look at:

Nop, somehow it wouldn't go away, was a major hassle as win was still on the 2TB disc back then Neutral
But like i said, it was still the early build that got out first (6100 RC1 i think?) but yea, really early...

Been using Kaspersky, Avira, Panda Cloud etc.. but MSE looks to be the best solution. It's not a perfect AV but none of them are. It is free, pretty light, good Windows integration, low false positives, it's not bloatware etc... at least it's a worth a try.

Try avast. Its free and google for a key if you cant be bothered for an email.

None of them are perfect. I dont use an antivirus myself. They carry cures for old viruses, not usually new ones so you are as good as naked. I used to have NOD but the cracked versions are getting soo dated that i had to lay the trusty thing off.

Hey sausje if you are worried about your windows deactivating you could mod your bios (depending on your mobo) and insert the slic 2.1 certificate. Then you never have to worry about those nasty updates again Very Happy.
