So what do you propose for treatment? Writing about it on the forum instead of seeing a doctor?

Yes, that's the best solution at the moment since a doctor can't do anything but tell me to go home and wait it out. At least I can vent some of my pain and suffering here. Wink

To alleviate symptoms: painkillers no heavier than Tylenol 3, lots of fluids, hot tea, sleep.

we men act like girls when were sick.
it's better to display a pretend controlled pathetic state on the internet, than go out in public and have the world see you as a fragile old man without a penis.

sides when i had the flu, they said it's best to stay home so the people in the clinic wont get infected and if the temp gets high or the cough gets worse or everything is really unbearable is when i should go in. But all they will give you is shit that will just ease out the congestion. So it's lame!! Sad

I'd be fine with the aching, it's the hot/cold flushing I can't stand. I go from being feverish to teeth-chatteringly freezing within a blink of an eye... End sleeping is almost impossible because of it.

Winter isn't winter if I don't catch the flu at least twice Laughing. Not as bad as yours Frant, but still incredibly annoying (cold, some lines of fever and permanent headache).

I'm also one of those who couldn't find any benefit in doing sports, since it was even worse before Razz

Its not about being hard, lol.

A flu jabs something elderly people have, not fit healthy young adults.

A flu jab is for young, elderly, people suffering from allergies or anyone with a respiratory illness... Such as asthma. I have asthma, Randy Savage. Be glad you don't.

I am asthmatic, I've gotten better but I do have it.

Still dont need a flu jab though.

Could only get 2-3 hours of sleep, my nose completely plugged no matter how much I blew my nose, and the coughing has really gotten bad, and it HURTS like HELL to cough up pieces of my lungs. But it's necessary to get the stuff out.

My nostrils feel like they were dragged along a gravel road, they're completely scabbed all the way around. At least my fever has dropped a little (perhaps because I've taken painkillers that tend to lower fever).

Olynth HA - nasal spray with hyaluronic acid should help you. It's better than other nasal drops because it doesn't damage the mucosa in your nose...

Yeah. If I can find the energy to go out I'll get that (or whatever the name is for the local variant).

Hmmm, today I couldn't sleep the entire time. It felt like someone turned on the heater in my bed!

And then I measure my temp and it was borderline. And that's the worst! You're not sick, but you feel ill.

I think someone from the humps put some kind of a curse on me!! I said, what the fuck, and did a routine anyways! I'm saying: fuck you illness in 2012! I'm not allowing myself to be sick, period! Very Happy

Thanks Pistol.

It's at least a little better. Borderline feverish, coughing brown/bloodied lumps of lung hurts like hell, nose still blocked. But pain in body isn't that bad anymore.

Great... now it has turned into bronchitis. Can't stop coughing, and every cough feels like it's going to explode the back of my head.

Yeah, last time (sometime during the 90'ies) I had Bronchitis I was given Cocillana. Second day the coughing was over so I thought I'd take the bike to work. I didn't realise I was high as a kite on the ethyl-morphine in the cough sirup. Extreme tunnel-vision and a veeery smooth, relaxed and "interesting" day that was.
