EDIT: nvm apparently im supposed to keep pressing space

What you're doing wrong? You're playing the singleplayer campaign...

Alright I found the solution. Apparently if you change your key bindings from the default you have to press both space + assigned jump key at the same time. It worked this time

Disable hyperthreading, and make sure your new shiny ram is running at correct voltages and speed.

I got this similar when upgrading to ddr3-2133mhz from 1600 (a gift :3) Turns out it needed a small voltage increase to be stable.

You got AMD now in the new system or nVidia?
Cuz if it's AMD, don't use the deferred antialiasing, that makes the game lag/crash.
For the HT part, i NEVER turned it off and had 0 problems with it, so i doubt it would be the cause.

Hyperthreading is not the issue (anymore), they fixed that several patches ago.

Has to be something else.

what temps you get when playing ?

It does for me, solid 60 without.
2x gives a little lag and drops to 55 sometimes, 4x rapes my rig, getting around 30-35 with that one.

I have used all possible sorts of combinations, plus YOU even set it for me when you were here.... You saw that deferred AA caused issues Razz

Going down from around 110 fps (without vsync) and no AA, to 2x AA and ~55 fps is too much of a hit tbh..

MSAA lowers framerate more than FXAA, but make it crash? I'm assuming with "lag" you just meant the lower framerate.

No 4x locked up my game, 2x is playable but i want solid 60 fps so i don't use it.
But 4x did crash a couple of times before for me (tho not when i started playing, but more after a while)

Man I love this game. I am a huge BF fan since the first one and I was a little hesitant at first. Now with the Karkand map pack and servers that have all the open maps in rotation this game is so epic. It gets better and better the more you play it. I think they need to take a look at the hit boxes one more time (and also some of the commo rose parts, does not work that well), but other than that it's just an epic experience running with your squad over oman, bringing out your Javelin and bringing the SOFLAM:ed chopper down.

You know what, same thing happens to me as well. Only during multiplayer it crashes back to battlelog randomly. It just happens out of the blue. Never happens in SP

Im 100% certain its not any of my hardware, its definitely software related. I thoroughly check my hardware for stability and keep temperatures in check. My GPU temps are always in the 40s. Also hardware failures usually give BSOD, complete freeze, black screen or a reboot. It wouldn't just go back to battlelog

Im thinking maybe its ethernet driver related or some other driver?

About everything you mention makes me want to puke.

Dear god, and you played BF since the first? THE FUCK? Were you blind folded until Bad Company or something?

How can BF3 be "epic" when it's far, far away in the shades of 1942/BFV/BF2?

Attempt #27: what exactly makes the older ones so much better? None of you so called veterans can say anything about it it seems, so all I'm sensing is a lot of butthurt because there's more infantry combat.

That and because of no more easy jet/chopper ground raping Very Happy And this is coming from a "veteran" if having extensively played BF2 and BF2142 counts for it.

bf1942 vanilla wasnt epic, mods made it epic (forgotten hope and desert combat especially)

bf:v was fail imo

bf2 was bug ridden till ... 1.40 ?

bf2142 was nothing but a bf2 mod for retail price

bad company are console

bf3 is so far the best VANILLA battlefield in my book.

Wish they would make a ww1/ww2 with that engine (forgotten hope with bf3 ... oh if only).

I'm absolutely loving the game as well, probably more than BF2. There was a small period when I was starting to get bored but the release of the Karkand pack and the fact that I try different "tactics" and approaches everytime has made the game much more enjoyable for me.

I never liked the first few battlefields, but i'm having a great time with this one.
But i usually play tdm and i guess that doesn't count as the real battlefield game.

It's a permanent upgrade, which is nice. It only works against jets and other helicopters, but you have to get extremely low to the ground. I don't think it cancels out laser-guided missiles though, so if you get painted by a SOFLAM or CITV and an enemy jet or heli has guided missiles, you're screwed.

I loved BF1942 (played the demo the first day it came out) and with the Desert Combat mod I enjoyed it even more. I loved BF2 as well. I never said that BF3 was TEH BESTEST BATTLEFIElD Y3T! They're good in their own regards. And puuuhlease my man, infantry combat in BF2 and BF1942 was largely a joke. BF3 excels in that regard even though there is still some work to be done on hitboxes. Like I wrote above I had some initial concerns with the maps, but with the B2K map pack and the bigger maps set on rotation I am having a lot of fun.

One thing is sure, the BF franchise has never disappointed me, not this time either. And I skipped both BF:V and 2142 which I feel was the right decision. Wasn't that impressed with them.

Actually there is one thing I am disappointed in, and it is the rush mode. Enjoyed it in BC2, but I feel it's way too hard to get all the way through on most of the maps. It's too compact and just in general crazy, even on 32 player servers. Haven't played rush for a very long time.
