Spoiler: | For the thick: the Force. | Star Wars is a mixture of Fantasy and Sci-fi. But the supernatural and bullshit-physics outweigh the very few plausible technologies, so it's more fantasy than Sci-fi.

Yes they did. Cant remember the article link but around the 22nd I think they announced over a million subscribers, I think. Or maybe it was even before the 20th cause I seem to recall over a million pre-orders

Genres are so blurred out these days, alot of games/movies or other shit, always walk on a very thin line

anyone else has the problem, that swtor literally KILLS your internet connection ? It now happened several times to me , 1-3 times a day, ONLY while playing swtor.
in router i get this sort of errors :
Started Unicast Maintenance Ranging ... Failed
----
Internet drops, router restarts etc dont do anything, release/renew etc , nothing. AV uninstalled, windows FW off etc etc, nothing. Eventually internet comes back (can be after a minute or an hour ...) ....
it really starts to PISS ME OFF lol. Im lucky i still have my vdsl connection (2 month cancellation lol) so i simply switch to the other router).
I also read that swtor is very stressful to modems/routers and networks. Wonder wtf is going on.

Prolly bad cables man, just do an easy test.
Download a few TB on a single day with your connection maxed out, see if that causes your connection to go offline.
I had sort of the same issue before, when downloading from usenet and youtube (both maximize my speed) my modem would softreset itself.
ISP couldn't see anything in logs (only logged if it hardresetted), but yea. Now 4 modems further and problem seems to be solved (for now). But they still don't know what it was...

It's the "largest one-day subscription account registration process in MMO history – over one million people are now registered players of the game, and the number is growing rapidly."

ok let me rephrase it :
ONLY when playing swtor.
I have a 100mbit connection that i max out several times a day, downloading tons of movies and stuff @ max speeds and never did my connection drop.
ONLY when playing swtor.

Well, sorry for me trying to be of any help...
Just saying that it didn't happen to me while i played SWTOR, i got 120mbit but doubt that the 20mbit more is the cause why i didn't dc..
Other then some sort of connection monitor to monitor of SWTOR uses really THAT much is the only other thing i could recommend...
I used netlimiter, just download from website and get key easy online (really pisstake finding key for that)

tnh, i'm a bit disapointed
according to http://pc.ign.com/articles/115/1158889p1.html rift had 1 milion people after 28 days.
i would have expected for swtor to rack up ~ 3 milions at the end of the first months, and decline to top 1.000.000 after 3 months.
well, we shall see.
Sin317, i play curently from a 3g stick, 386 kbps, and no problem. 130 lag.
at home i have a 100 mbps router / pppoe, no problem aswell. about 60-80 lag.

ping isnt the issue here, the issue is that suddenly my internet connection dies and i virtually can do anything i want and NOT resolve it .. and it eventually resolves itself.
And i really a lot.
And i have no issues , besides that one, in the game or outside. Ping/bw whatever.

tbh, sounds like a router issue.
like how older mediaplayers crash when they try to read a new mkv compressed header format.
can you try with a newer/different router ? i presume you have the latest firmware.

you have the same issues when you switch to the other router ?
you can plug the computer directly without a router ?
browsing briefly to that topic, i saw only people with routers have this issue. at least noone mentioned direct connection.

well, in my case, it isnt as bad as for some others, i dont d/c every 5 minutes (yet) , its more a every x hours. But when i get d/c, my net is usually gone for several minutes.
PS : i just downloaded 5 720/1080 movies @ full speed without the slightest hiccup.

Had a friend who got disconnected all the time in the game and it has stopped now. So the TDC issue seems to be solved.
