That modified default.ini file doesn't really improve the fps for me... it's still pretty much playable though.

One question about this game does it get better, so far i'm just running and gunning when the space sation is expoding,

Is this what the whole games like, if it is please tell because i'll stop playing if this is the case.

Jeez, you've hardly got anywhere. Have you played for all of like half hour?

Once you get the god powers the game becomes completely different, but you haven't even escaped the space station yet (which is probably the worst section of the entire game) so you have a while to go. It does get better once you escape. But doesn't truely take off until you become a demigod.

Once this happends the game sort of tailors itself to you because the powers evolve according to how you use them. Including your dodging, jumping and melee ability.

By the end of the game I was absolutely untouchable in close combat and could decimate massive groups of enemies, but my ranged abilities still left alot to be desired.

Compared to the other (over)hyped releases of the past few months Area 51 and Pariah to be exact its a breath of fresh air, reminded me of several other games Halo/Psi-Ops - As Animalmother touched on by playing in a certain stye or using certain weapons you develop proficiency in them. I found myself cartwheeling around the levels and dodging enemies plus using melee alot simply to power up my character, reminded me of Morrowind I used to play that and bunny hop across the entire map simply to increase the characters athletics skills it kind of becomes addictive trying to get your character fully powered up.

The game seemed a little easy but other than that and a lil slowdown its well worth spending some time on before GTA:SA comes out. Laughing

edit........the game hasn't fucked up my executor chip either tryed a half dozen games after playing advent and all worked fine.

I tried playing the game on hard, it's actually really difficult on that setting. Although it became frustrating because I kept on dying. Razz

ok heres what ya do

Replace Advent Risings default.ini with this one.

The default.ini is the Unreal engines configuration file.

3 instances of "MinDesiredFrameRate=30.000000" change to 60.
{2 where 35 in mine so I changed to 60}

"UseXBoxFSAA=False Mustard - turn this on if we have enough mem" is now set to True

works great for me know more studder, couldn't play before

Well, wouldnt enabling Full Screen Anti Aliasing make it run slower than before, increasing the desired framerate setting may lower the game's details within the unreal engine to achieve higher framerates, but enabling FSAA will take the FPS gain back down. So it seems to me thats why people said this method only slightly increases FPS. If the game runs slow im actually gonna reburn again with FSAA off in the ini.

Lol the story behind my name is once when there was still this mp3 search engine called www.oth.net where u could actually type in mp3 names and it would give u working ftp links to mp3s like http://user:pass@address.com/folder/whatever.mp3

and once i didnt a search for a song and i found a server which had NIGGERSHIT:JEWFACE for the user pass, lol, i laughed so hard, maniacally really, at the utter ordasity of it. So now i made this nick lol, and I hope peoples eyes go O_o when they see it Wink

As for the game, i burned it with framerate set to 60 and FSAA set to true, and the game actually lags on my xbox at parts, has little slowdowns, very slight, but annoying as fuck nonetheless.
So now im gonna reedit the ini and change fsaa to false and burn again.
I got a custom dvddrive hooked into the xbox its a PC dvd drive so it can read all cds/dvds, and chameleon modchip i think, so i wonder if its the cd drive or what which makes the game skip? however no other games skipped wiht it so i assume it was the FSAA or this game itself was designed a bit to lag/skip once in a while (in which case ill wait for the PC version Wink

/Niggershit:Jewface LOL~!

wow i'm hearing mixed things about this game

it seems like all the previews were excellent - it was hyped up, screenshots looked gorgeous, storyline sounded immersive, characters abilities looked to add a bit of rpg to an action game, perhaps even a bit of thinking
now all the reviews seem less than impressed, it doesn't sound so innovative, gorgeous graphics are pointless when the game is so choppy on many peoples xboxs, story is badly told and the game is full of bugs

but one thing i've heard several times is that it gets off to a slow start and then much improves. i guess i will give it a shot when i get it
