Arkham City is £34.99 on Steam, I just checked it. If you managed to get it cheaper, then it's obviously through some other store, right? So, in fact, it's more expensive. I'm sure if you really wanted, you could find SS3 cheaper as well.

And that explains it. Wink

No, it was through steam, I got a fiver off for owning AA and then the 10% pre-order price. I know which service I have the game on. So yeah, cheaper than what SS3 currently is on Steam. I'm not lying FFS. SS3 is in no way a £29.99 game. You've pretty much seen all the game has to offer at around the 3 hour mark.

And SS3 could be bought discounted by 20% so no, it still was cheaper. Wink

- A super serious additional 10% discount off of Serious Sam 3: BFE for customers that already own a Serious Sam title on Steam.

Well, either way, it's still priced in the same bracket (in the UK at least) as other AAA games but the gameplay is more reminiscent of a budget title. I'm just saying the game is too repetitive to warrant that price.

The gameplay is far better than most "AAA" shooters if you ask me. Wink

But that's fine, it's your opinion, and my point was it's the whole series you don't like, so it's understandable you don't like this installment either, as it's true to the previous games.

You misunderstand me. It's not that I don't like it. I just feel that stretching the same 5 minutes out again and again is very tiresome. Also, there have been 4 of these games now (HD games not included) and it's exactly the same game as it was then, there is no effort to vary things. I guess it suits the fans though it seems strange how other game sequels get torn apart for being the same with every sequel released but Croteam get a free pass. It's a decent time killer but very repetitive. Just for reference, how many missions are there in this game?

I finally tried the ISO demo for some time, and the game is exactly what I expected, a faithful ode to old-school shooters. Graphically speaking is nice and quite well optimized too (even though I had to reduce the details a bit in order to play at 60fps-1080p).

I'm not a fan of this genre (I find it boring after a while) but I recognize that the audience who loved the previous ones will definitely love this one too, since almost nothing has changed.

It's so refreshing how much little has changed. Compared to all those other "modern" shooters.

In fact, some of the enemies and weapons remind me of Doom1/2 (which is good thing).

Probably related to VRAM since you have only 1gb, or you are running on ultra settings which 6950 is not enough.

Start the game from Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\serious sam 3 and restart the lvl the game checks where it is installed and if its not installed in this path it starts spinning at some point ^^

I never got the spinning problem but I have the game installed in the steamapps folder as suggested
Some levels lag but some don't, the later levels seem a lot better

I'm playing the game on hard and getting my ass kicked, the kleer are brutal
I do like the game but something just feels a bit off, still having fun though there has been a few rage quits Sad

multiplayer rocks! dynamic, fast, fun, great weapons. i miss the blood splash that has quake 3. watching your nemesis explode in red is priceless. other than that, best fps in years. Very Happy

Instead of adding new weapons they could consider "mirrors perk". It would be really handy when 90% of your time in game you have to run backwards!

Change the installation folder to x:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\serious sam 3

You will have to restart the level if you already hit problematic checkpoint

Since you can install Steam more or less anywhere the path would probably just have to be \steamapps\common\serious sam 3\ though. Smile

I own the game and it's under C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\Common\serious sam 3 as to compare.
