As I have understood in this Monday the NDA of the journos ends, and video game websites will have interviews with Remedy about both AW:PC and AW:AN. Remedy's plan is to promote and release them in the same time (well no, not the exact same time, but in the same timeframe, Q1 2012).

As for AW:AN getting a PC release, I'm fairly certain it will happen (unless AW:PC flops very badly..) and much sooner than how long it took AW:PC.

My reasoning is that
- this is a smaller title (so hopefully shorter exclusivity period, eg the June-released Iron Brigade has already been spotted in the Steam registry)
- Remedy definitely wants to release games on the PC (evidenced by the very fact they are releasing the 2 year old AW, plus they also plan to release the updated Death Rally on the PC)
- they said in an interview they'd like to release both
- and finally few months ago Microsoft claimed they didn't even know of the existence of AW:AN (then titled AW: Night Springs), so hopefully they are just publishing this, not funding it as well.

Oh, also they need the PC as a backup, since they can't make any PS3 games with their engine. If Microsoft no longer wants to work with them, they are doomed.

Game is shit compared to Deadly Premonition anyways.. its what the game should've been (apart from the Nintendo 64 graphics in DP, obviously).

DP with Alan Wake's engine would've been game of the decade. Too bad something like this will always be over Remedy's head.

the most exciting thing about this is wondering if theyll charge 95 usd or 99 usd in my region now that arkham city and mw3 have forever smashed the terribly and unfairly low 89 usd pricing ceiling we previously had. oooh i can hardly wait. so exciting.

Oh for the love of god, just STFU about the regional pricing in Australia and NZ in every fucking thread of every fucking upcoming game.

In New Zealand , the average wage (data from June 2011) is 2400 dollars a month. [since the weekly average is 800 dollars for those receiving wages]

In Poland, it 2318 PLN, that's ~680 dollars.

So you're most likely to earn around 2000 bucks a month, and you complain that you have to pay 90 AUD for a game? You earn that amount of money in about 4,5 HOURS of work, since the hourly average wage is around 20 bucks.

Meanwhile, an average Pole earns even less than 680 dollars(but for the sake of argument, let's forget about that), and not only everything is expensive as hell ATM, but for a game on Steam we have to pay the same amount of cash(in euros) that the guy in Germany would. You know what is the average pay in Germany? Around 2700 bucks.

So please, for the love of god, cry me a fucking river the next time you want to boo-fuckin-hoo about the price of games in your country.

im on student allowance at the moment, which is a couple hundred a week (thats nz dollars though, not usd)

still doesnt matter though. doesnt matter where you live or how much you make, 100 is too much for any game, its insane.

no idea why neon is overreacting though. i only said it in jest... and i hardly complain in every thread about it - just in especially amusing cases like mw3 and batman.

Well he does have a point tho chiv, over there you guys got way more spending money then in Poland.
Now with your theory, everything should be same priced over the world.
Thus in your country people keep getting richer and richer, while in Poland they barely have any money left after getting all that is needed per month.

Yea i want you to lead the world if that is your way of thinking Laughing

my question is this

why cant you agree that BOTH regions have unfair pricing? just because one region is worse off than another, the 'better off region' must automatically have fair pricing? i doubt our economy is twice as good as americas... would neon also say that the brits have fair pricing as well?

Well with his numbers (and in a perfect world) prices should be 4x difference from eachother.

So it's either 25$ per game in poland for 100$ game at your place, but they pay ~50$ per game and you ~100$. So you pay actually twice as less in comparisment.

Now that might not be for you the case as you are only a student, this is a comparisment about the average vs average.

its a moot point, it really is. like i said, just because his region has a lower income level, doesnt automatically disqualify any other country that is better off, from claiming unfair pricie gouging in their region as well.

like i said... why cant you just accept that both regions are getting shafted? its not mutually exclusive, just because poland is getting fucked over, doesnt mean no one else is.

i find comparing to america to make more sense anyway, and unless nz's economy is magically twice as good as americas, i wont accept that we are getting fair pricing in this region to justify the 2x increase in pricing we are getting. if neon is getting screwed over even harder, then fine, im not debating that, but it doesnt have any bearing on whether or not we are being ripped off (just like the brits are too).

but anyway, this has blown totally out of proportion. i said what i said mostly in jest, and i do (rightfully; suck it Razz) know that nz and australia get shafted on game pricing. end.

Companies like to overcharge for stuff in richer countries, but why don't they charge LESS in countries with lesser wages? Sad Valve is the only ones who do that, I get cheaper prices here on their games. Troll Face Though, while I do think 100$ for a game is insane, I gotta agree with Neon. We pay like 75$ on average per game here, and our wages(I'm from Serbia) are a LOT less than Australian ones. Like my father as a prison guard earns around 800-900$ a month, while a guy working as a clerk in Australia/NZ will probably earn like 2000$ a month. So if you look at it from that perspective, me and Neon in this case, pay A SHIT TON more than Australians/New Zealanders do, it's like the games there costed 300$ or so.

I don't. Troll Dad I only buy games on Steam that are on sale, for the rest, I use other sites/cd key sites or retail stores here in some occasions, since they are cheaper as well.

There's a difference between "yes, I'll put this out and market it for you" and "I'll also fund your whole development and I'll have significant creative input, if I want to".

AW was clearly the later. AW:AN, well their comments suggested that a few months ago they weren't behind it ("I don't know that they've signed it with anybody."), so hopefully their involvement isn't as significant.
