A friendly suggestion: you are chewing up a lot more CPU by dropping your sound acceleration down to basic. I recommend getting new drivers from your sound chip manufacturer instead.
For instance I had problems with Nvidia Nforce Unified driver so I went to RealTek's and got the drivers for my ALC650 chip and everything is great now.
Much better frame rate with my sound acceleration turned back up.
