I'm pretty sure you got cheaper places, but g2play has it for 16,99 euros with somekind of D/L link?

Anyone bought it from there?

I've been playing this game for a while now but today i get a warning from microsoft sec essentials about solidcore32.dll beeing a trojan.

I don't think it is one but why the alert now and not all those times i started the game before?

That was what i thought first but i don't think that i've updated the virusscanner and it's not on autoupdate.
But even if i did how to be sure if it is a trojan because i think this is the version most players using.

Hmmmm

There's a thread over on Demonoid about this, with a fair number of other people claiming it's a trojan, too... posts from a couple of weeks ago:

"Having trouble getting rid of the Trojan that came with this junk, ESET is going nuts blocking its attempts to open malicious websites but all scans in safe mode reveal nothing. Anyone got any tips?
...
I was told to use the Microsoft Security Scanner, which found it and said it needed to restart my PC to completely remove it. After that it was constant kernal crashes on start up. Just gave up and formatted. So yeah, don't use that."

And it goes on.

Edit: And a different forum:

"I also got a similar issue in the same file. I'd usually ignore it, but this time my adware detected a trojan activating from this solidcore32.dll file whilst i was doing some non gameplaying activities. The trojan activated on its own, This shouldnt happen if it was a false positive."

Definitely seems a bad file.

I checked the file from the crackfolder also and it did give the warning again.

Aww crap, never noticed that there was a virus in this. Sad
I don't want to use my bought version as I hate the drm with a passion.
I guess I'll go back to 1404.

Edit: Is it common for "scene-groups" to release viruses? I did a scan on my system with Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware and it found both the dll in this game and the skidrow.dll from dirt 3 to be viruses. Avast doesn't detect anything unusual about any of them.

What AV do you use? Mine is from a "safe" source but many AV programs says it's virus.

Both avira, ad aware and MBAM says it's a virus for me.
60% of scanners at Virustotal says it's a virus as well
I'm not overly concered so far though I haven't seen it do anything weird yet.

I checked the solidcore.dll again and it did find a trojan (kryptik.fm) but it didn't do anything to my system it seems, might be just a false positive due to heuristics or so.

No one seem to know whether it's a virus or false positive. All I know is that the game doesn't seem to do anything weird when using the dll (checked with sandboxie) and that neither MSE or Norton consider it to be a virus as of todays update.

For me it said it was Vundo.oy trojan

As others said i also didn't see anything strange happening since i got the warning, i checked registry entries for known entries of other vundo type trojans and found nothing.
