according to a Silentgate release what got pasted here DIE works on it but i dont think you will see a crack, esp not for the latest patch.

Quite interesting. In fact, SF in general remains all the same since v3. And reality is that other protections slowy move toward SF.
(for example some of them introduced VMs and functions decompilation)

Anyway, antidebugging techniques and obfuscation tricks were known for ages.
Implementation - that makes the difference.

He probably means that in sc3 sf version there is again new anti cracking techniques the sf developers took the ideas from other protections. and they probably improved it...

3.4.76.00 new vm
50mb protected datafiles
ingame pcdoes (2) + outside pcodes (3)

demo has trymedia activemark Razz it wont help you as it doesnt use apis so you can not even copy apis from it if you would want to ... and protected data files = always hard as you have to "guess" the right filenames and location in install directory.

its awesome job from them and its storeday done!

Freakshow, you have wrong information.
vm is the same, NO so called 'pcodes' at all. The crack is a simple memory dump with restored imports.

Regarding to the 'crypted' files. It's relativelly easy to grab'em once the game 'touches' all of them at the very beginning.

No wonder Wink

I cannot help you guys, cause i don't know nothing about it.... but the technical problem seems to be the important one!
Cause if we know wich type of SF3, real cracked or using demo files, we will understand if they are making progress with sf3 protec...
& i hope they will find things!!!
Reloaded are pretty good no?
Hope they will understand it, step by step!!
For what you have seen with them last sf3 releases, do you thing they are making progress guys???

I think that Reloaded made some progress but are still far away from ULTiMA wizards. Maybe ULTiMA will come back again, despite their message in Colin info "do not count on us for each starforce title".

They are the only one who proved to be able to crack what and when they want. Also they did not touch any other protection except starforce (it's clear that they may crack whatever protection) so i guess they might be back if scene will fail again. Maybe they will be back with the same screenshots of forums saying "starforce is not crackable".

Reloaded is doing good but that's not enough to beat beasts like Splinter Cell CT and Trackmania. Maybe if they would join with Hoodlum and share experience, who knows.

everybody praise Ultima so much hehe whats so special about them probably cause of theire cool installers....and sound and gfx, but if we take a look at theire crack then we see that the Reloaded / Die sf3 cracks are superior to Ultima theire cracks...
any crack is welcome ofcourse but I prever an REAL nocdcrack . then an Ultima driver crack.

Their multimedia stuff was great indeed (BTW: ULTiMA was the first one with own installer, graph and muzax or there was someone other? I don't know and am curious) but that was just an addition to their cracks.
Please remember they first cracked Xpand only. When starforce claimed that it was a hole and it has been fixed - they came again and cracked 'fixed' starforce (others weren't able to crack both of these titles).

If you say 'REAL crack' then i don't care. ULTiMA did it great and with hell funny show. I was ROFLMAO while watching messages to starforce and forum screenshots. I would be happy for ANY STARFORCE KILLING CRACK, from ANY group. Even clone. I think clones are the best solution (you can always patch the game without crack).

Hope the newest Daemon Tools will deal with starforce for long time.

get your facts straight sentex.. Ultima didnt *crack* it.. they took advantage of a hole in the protection which now has been patched.

the day people who have no idea how sf3 works stfu, i'll spend the rest of my life cracking sf3 games..

there's no experience to share.. it's just time consuming

ULTiMA didn't crack Xpand and Colin? Why do you tell me such news so late? So who made the crack I use, Codemasters?

You say "the protection now has been patched"? Did you read my previous post? The same said starforce devs after ULTiMA cracked Xpand. Sorry but if starforce devs were wrong then i just cannot believe your words (but i respect your opinion), even if you are starforce dev Laughing

probably not. it seems that Hoodlum is specialized in Securom + Safedisc and Reloaded likes Starforce.

i'd agree with sentex.

well said. we shouldn't even say such words after seeing Starforce authors being so wrong.

personally I belive that Ultima, Reloaded and DIE specializes in Starforce. If only these three could work together.....

The same here: well said.

But Ultima is not from the scene so they will not join. I guess the only possible join-venture Smile is Reloaded and DIE.

Yes, Will Of Steel for instance.

I dont think its matter of specialization. Reloaded got the stuff for Securom + SD, aswell. Its all about who gets it first.

What i have understoof about sf, its not about that the groups wouldnt know what to do. Its just about time and the work that has to be done. If there arent any flaws, which could be exploited, i guess these groups should hire some chinese guys, who work 24/7. ( no offence to chinese )

hah, nice one but seriously... Chinese don't work for low salaries only, they have very big knowledge about cracking stuffs and maybe they could do it.

You mean this one: http://www.nfohump.com/index.php?m=nfo&id=87014 ?
The HLM release of Will of Steel was nuked for "not.cracked". Their only SF3 crack is Santa Claus in Trouble again, but it didnt work for many ppl, including me.

Guys, don't start it again...

It doesn't matter who cracked it but WHAT they cracked. The bitch is called Starforce and let's kill it.

We don't need another Hoodlum vs. Reloaded war. Both of these groups are great.

Btw, FYI 'fixed' version they've cracked had exactly the same 'hole'.
It was the same version of SF (altough the build number might be different) and the same style crack.
Real fixes came with some delay on the following games.

well well well.... who do we've here to rate scene's cracks and defend starcrap? Mr. Sage386 (386? are you 16-bit?). your defense of starcrap intrigued me.... .....really!

Sentex said the following (not to you of course):

@Sentex
did you know you almost forecasted the future? Mr. Sage386 is not starcrap developer but very, very close to them. aren't you, dear Sage386? tell us if you have NOTHING COMMON with starcrap?

maybe instead of talking nonsenses (sorry but you just did it with your latest post.... while building another fairytale to understimate starcrap cracks) could you tell us why do you defend starcrap (and PLEEEEASE, don't even tell me you aren't defending it because i'm not talking about nforce only)?

i didn't know because i'm not so close with starcrap experts like you are. thanks pal, it looks like i own you something now:

for example: do u remember your words defending starforce (as always) by saying that all CD.DVD protections use drivers (you didn't say it on nforce and i've no proof but u know you said it..... damn! am i gooood?)? let me tell you that you were wrong, ask starcrap masters why.

now we're close friends.

hey sorry sentex you must have written that post while I wrote mine.

anyway like I said, it's just time consuming. the groups may share knowledge however there's no information to share that will make the process any faster.. only if they coop they will crack it faster as there is more brains working on it Wink
it's just really tedious, that's all...

No problem. I agree that it's time consuming too and by saying "sharing the knowledge" I meant exactly a kind of coop too so we've very similar point ov view Wink

Anyway I wouldn't be surprised seeing Ultima cracking Trackmania and Splinter Cell.

i know but in 3.5 it looks that they use a feature protectCD v6 showed and some other stuff Xtreme Protector showed in the past. But doesnt matter the stuff is known klong time

about area 51 your right. i only got 2 exe dumps and they differed in 5 vm jmps what is normaly a secure sign of vom protected opcodes. I got clonecd today and checked myself and have to say your right. Its the updated vm used since 3.4.7x and its no single pcode inside. dumped at OEP break it was easy to rebuild and fix imports. not much todo.

So sorry to the wrong info i gave abotu the pcodes, the were only based on 2 dumps i recieved from friend Sad

With new vm i meaned the "small" update used since 3.4.7x version appered.

btw A.P. you should have stayed UCF and cracking not like now creating parts of such a protection Sad
your old 386 coded stuff was cool back in your days Sad
