The PS3? Just import it then. PS3 games are region free mate, it's only the 360 that is region locked. If you're buying for the PS3, just import it -- you'll save money doing that too.

Region locks for ANYTHING these days are just retarded, even more so when it's a digital purchase, but luckily the PS3 doesn't have them.

playing through snake eater again was a blast... it's such a great game and looks great with the higher resolution.
now I'm playing peace walker which I only gave a short try on the PSP but gave up on because of the controls... now with a second analogue stick it's really great fun!
didn't try MGS2 HD yet as I want to go through the metal gear solid series in chronological order but I can already highly recommend this hd collection
now if only there was a graphically improved metal gear solid 1. something like what was done with Halo for the anniversary edition... I'm gonna have to play it after peace walker but I'm sure it'll look terrible. lol
oh well.. can't have everything.

I thought of that.. but when I suggested that they should add twin snakes (which I never played) to the collection somewhere, someone replied that it wasn't just a graphically enhanced version of MGS but a bad remake with new cutscenes that aren't as awesome as the originals and shit.
so I backed off a bit from twin snakes.... you say it's worth playing?

they are full of shit, you can compare those people to the starwars "fans" who get their panties in a bunch about redone CGI in a single scene.
Twin snakes looks so much better, has some MGS2 features added, redone voice acting.
it is superior in every way, and if i didnt read about redone cutscenes i wouldnt have noticed after all those years. Dont buy in those "purists" their bullshit.

So now I have the option of either running twin snakes on my wii, or playing the PC version of the original.
I'll grab the pc version of MGS and see if it even works on windows 7.

Well, Peace Walker is a PSP game. It's just in higher resolution. PS2 games are better than PSP graphics wise so if you run them both at the same res, PS2 games are gonna look better.
Peace walker looks much better than a PS1 game, and maybe like an average PS2 game, but it's not as good as MGS2 and MGS3. The biggest difference is that peace walker lacks any kind of facial animation, while MGS2 has decent facial animation and MGS3 has excellent facial animation.
It's not a big issue though because pretty much all the cutscenes are graphic novel style and not ingame like those of other MGS titles. You only occasionally see the face of Big Boss and all soldiers wear masks anyway.

Dled and ready for tomorrow , I never touched MGS3..this is gonna be my first playthrough and I heard MGS3 is the best of all four.. I played only MGS1 on PS1 , and MGS2 on the PC long time ago..
