fucks sake. just tried doing that boethiah quest... actually had to resort to online guides because the thing bugged out on me twice ffs. once after i killed my companion (500 coin well spent to kill jenassa... filthy fucking elves...), and then again when the quest didnt progress after killing everyone when she sends me after her champion.
epic frustration at times you sometimes just dont know if its because you cant figure out what to do, if you've MISSED something, or if the game is just flat out throwing a bitch-fit.
Honestly, I see this as delicious karma for all those SG wins You are either BSing about the constant bugs you're experiencing, or you're just about the most unluckiest Skyrim player there is
The Boethia quest was awesome and didn't have a single issue for me. Hell, I haven't had any issues with any quest at any time. Period.
im not saying it wouldnt have been awesome, its just when it came to the sacrifice, the body resurrects, says some line about 'you can attracted my attention' and then just stands there doing nothing
not saying the bugs are constant... and its not enough to kill the experience for me, but they are happening more than id like
heres another fun bug. uh there was a quest where i had to go into some shrine in solitude i think it was? and you meet some cannibal chick? when you walk in there you can hear a voice (i assume its hers), and then a chick runs up to me and started a dialog sequence (while the voice was still talking), and then suddenly she runs away mid-sentence, and then a few seconds later, runs back and begins the dialogue sequence again!
but thats more fun than anything.
last dungeon i was in... this wasnt a bug, but its funny... was walking down a passage, noticed one of those spike-wall traps. was just thinking "ok so theres the trap, now wheres the swi...
Well there's your first, and fatal, mistake right there; using a companion. Bethesda cannot do companions - they just can't. Morrowind? Shit. Oblivion? Shit. Fallout 3? Shit. Skyrim? Shit. Go it alone and save yourself some hassle :\
they started to get better though in fallout 3, sure post dlc patch but they weren't quite as suicidal, having to drop them places is pretty compulsory and expected isn't it?
I definitely like companions, they're great pack mules. I think Marcurio is awesome, even better than Lydia. But I don't like his Fear spell, it makes enemies run away and i have to chase them lolz
Sabin did you finish the main quest ? That's probably the glitchiest questline.

yeah but i like lydia, shes cool
shes ineffectual at combat, and cant carry much, but i still like havin her around
I'm having an issue with the Nexus Mod Manager - for some reason the plugins I check under the "Plugins" tab are not staying checked.
If I check them, and exit the NXMM without launching the game they stay checked when I start the program again.
If I check them and launch Skyrim with the button at the top of the program, upon starting the NXMM the next time they are all unchecked.
I can't tell whether the mods are staying enabled in game or not (the two being enhanced water/blood textures. I'm leaning towards no). Ideas?
Edit - Resolved by adding the line:

I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

Boredom and curiosity got the better of me so I set out on this epic quest. Please note this topic is in jest, Skyrim is awesome and I wont be taking it back to the store after this shocking discovery!
My studies are as follows:
•Counted only the steps that were actually visible. Much of the terrain leads you to believe that many steps are buried under snow, so if you want to take that into account then I would estimate 100 to 150 more steps that were not visible.
•I counted the steps that went downhill too - the lore talks about "climbing" the 7000 steps so it seems counter intuitive, but I included them anyway.
•Started from the very first step over the Ivarstead bridge right upto the front door of High Hrothgar.
So in closing, if the Throat of the World was to really include 7000 steps, our journey up to the Greybeards would have roughy been 10 times longer. I suppose you can also say the mountain itself should be about 10 times bigger? Crazy if it was that big in-game.
Also Todd Howard is a lying bastard.

Lydia works well enough. I run like a maniac, jump off mountains like a monkey, I haven't lost her. Pathfinding is ok for companions as long as there isn't a small pebble they can't get past. Damage output is utter shit, but she serves as a meat shield in tough battles (I still find it challenging at level 37).
The Nord's Battle Cry is great btw. Everytime I use it, I imagine my Nord screaming "FUCK OFF!".
