Every time I start origin my computer freezes for 5-8 seconds, even the fucking mouse cursor freezes, I've no idea what's causing this, could be the HDD but its not fragmented.

Also, today I noticed when accessing wallbase.net, I typed in : battlefield 3 to search for some wallpapers and he computer froze for about 4 seconds again, after the freeze the computer 'beeped' like when you press 3-4 keys at once.

Any ideas ?

I can never relax and say : Everything went better than expected, with each new PC I hope the problems will go away, fuck it wont.

Think ill buy a Mac .

Y U No????

Dare I ask this:
What keyboard are you using? Have you tried using the on-screen keyboard after unplugging your physical one?

The only reason I ask is that some of the newer keyboards that I've seen have all of this anti-ghosting crap built in, which is nice, but if if were to say, fuck up, it might cause a similar issue.

Also, you might right-click on computer in the start menu and hit properties and verify that the amount of memory that you installed is correctly listed there. I had a problem almost a year ago where my computer decided to go ahead and dedicate about 9GB of my RAM to hardware. A quick swap around of memsticks fixed the issue (could have really been that I didn't have one seated properly, but that usually causes other weirdness in addition to this problem). When I was having this problem, I would get random freezes as Windows was swapping large amounts of data from my page file on my HDD.

You might also make sure that you are running a page file and you could even move it to a different drive.

Not that any of these things is the culprit (and I'm abso-fucking-lutely no expert), but these are issues that I've had with similar symptoms. Hope this helps!

Same here, but it freezes for ~2 seconds.

And I already sorted out the problem: Origin is still in beta.

^^This^^

If EA support wasn't a bunch of idiots and didn't give me BF3 for free, I would uninstall that shit in a heartbeat.

Even the music that is playing on youtube or foobar or winamp or other player stops responding.

I own an old and fucked up keyboard, the arrow keys seem to be broken because I can't press Up and Left in the same time, this was useful when I used to play racing games.

Also, any key on the keyboard + X = beep sound ( x seems to be fucked up too, only when pressing it with another key )

Sounds like it might be a k/b issue to me. I suggest finding an keyboard that isn't currently being used and trying it. Or just steal one from a friend for 24 hours and see if the problem persists. This is definitely a weird one, I'll give you that.

this is normal, its just the program calling home-base and uploading data. nothing to be concerned about.

It's because my connection sucks Razz

As for origin, it's true that it's a horrible program and can cause hiccups especially when started, but in this case we're talking about 5-8 seconds long freezes..it's kinda suspicious (like b0se said). Have you tried to completely uninstall origin and reinstall it?

Yes, even a windows reinstall, a HDD defrag and format, what remains now is to buy an SSD.

It's probably just me, but I don't tolerate such issues, I mean listening to music like a baws and searching the web when suddenly you want to start Origin, well... you need to close your eyes for 5-8 seconds .

windows 7x32 sk 775 dual core at work, 2 gb ram, sata -> no problem with origins.
home : x64, quad on 775, 8 gb ram, sata, no problem
country parents house -> xp, 775, p4 proc, 1 gb ram, ide -> no problem again.

updating swtor almost halt my work/country systems because of heavy compression/decompresion of files, but still no issues with origin client.

I must've misunderstood. I thought that this issue happened at random intervals even when you weren't starting Origin...

But, yeah, Origin is shit software. So, if you are having problems whilst using it, then those problems are definitely with Origin. Have you tried reproducing the problem with no internet connection active? i.e. unplugging your cable/disabling your wireless, then starting origin.
