There are multiple tools out there to help reencoding DVD9 to DVD5 (most of them working with transcode/mencoder), but nearly all of them only feature encoding of single titles.
Where is the problems to write a *nix tool that also adds extras, menus and so on? DVD-Playersoftware can read the menus, dvdauthor can create them, so it should be possible.

I am talking about real CCE/dvdshrink/whatever alternatives.

one simple GUI i found a few days ago: http://dvdshrink.sourceforge.net/index.html

€: Dont bitch about me writing such a tool, i neither have the knowhow nor the time.
