I'm sorry for yet another thread, but I didn't feel that it would get as much attention if I posted in one of the others as no one had the same problem as me. It would probably be better to have a thread dedicated to San Andreas problems, but that's for a mod to decide. Anyway..

When I try to start San Andreas, after the Nvidia logo, I get this:

Quote:
The instruction at "0x1d1c4e86" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

It pops up, and kicks me back to the desktop.
I get this when trying three different cracks, as well as when I disable the DVD-ROMs.

My computer is the min spec, except my video card which is a little better.
AMD Athlon 1Ghz. 256 MB RAM, Geforce 4 Ti4600 128 MB, Soundblaster Live! 1024.

I've tried most of the solutions I've read about, but I haven't got it working yet. I hope someone here has a solution Smile

The application is trying to read from RAM, HDD or Page File and can not find the correct information. You need to re-install first, if that doesnt work I would guess your HDD is having issues or your RAM is fucking up. Do a scandisk and defrag, and also run some Ram testing applications to see if you have any issues there.

Thanks, I'm reinstalling now. I guess scandisk and defrag might help too, as I haven't done any of them in a long time. This is the only game I have gotten this error from, if that is of any interest. Thanks again for the quick reply Smile

Re-install didn't work. I'll try defrag later today. Do you have any links to good RAM testing applications? Thanks.

Edit: And I've heard the Windows defrag program isn't the best. Do you have any links to a good defrag program too?

I got it working! I don't really know how, becuase I googled for the error message and found a few fixes. After trying them all, the game worked, but I don't know which one was the solution.

Anyway, I uninstalled Nimo Codec Pack, and installed the game on a FAT32 partition. I bet it's the FAT32 fix that was the solution. So if anyone have a similar problem, try installing to FAT32! Thanks for the help Very Happy
