I find it very amusing that most of npc's are saying the same thing... voiced in other tone!
Thats just so weird and cool little detail

Yeah I find that pretty annoying actually...
I mean.. they already use so few voice actors so you hear the same voices over and over, but then when they got another voice actor they say the same damn thing!

Like you go into one shop and the guy says "Some may call this junk. Me? I call them treasures"
Then you into another shop and there's a woman who says the exact same thing!
And it's like that with a lot of lines that just get repeated by 4 different voice actors or something.

If it at least was something completely generic that they say, like.. something that several different people might say like 'Good day' or whatever.. but noo it's very distinct phrases.

I dunno it just seems like such a stupid thing to do.. I don't see why bethesda doesn't bother putting a little more effort into their voice acting stuff in general. Writing a few more lines sure wouldn't have cost them too much...

hilarious videos you guys posted up there btw :-)

Prolly JB is using some mod, the max zoom allowed is like yours and mine. Fast travels takes all the fun, but still through really large distances, like Solitude -> Riften comes in handy Laughing

I didn't use fast travel in the first 10 hours or so but then i said fuck it. Was getting tired of slaying wolves and bandits and exploring newly discovered random locations while on your way to X place was fun at first but then it became pretty pointless when i realised that there isn't much benefit to it other than for the sake of exploration. Sure you can find the occasional chest with OK items at the end of the dungeon but other than that i didn't care much.

As i said it's because the game lack variety. Exploring would be much fun if it didn't and if there was no scaling imho. I said i most likely wouldn't replay it with a different class but that's not totally true. I won't replay the vanilla version but i sure as hell will try a few mods and see if it can make things more interesting.

The community seems to believe there will be a update this week (According to Bethblog future patches - like this one I guess - will be PC first and then console due to validation and testing required from MS and Sony.) anyway we'll probably see something shortly if that's the case. Smile

this isn't like oblivion or fallout3 where it's essentially unplayable without heavy modding
i was really surprised that the base game is actually pretty good and playable as is
the auto leveling is still there, and bullshit, but not nearly as bad as with oblivion
there'll never be road bandits with glass armor or stupid shit like that
i have two mods installed.. one to boost the jump height a bit, and one to give merchants more money
and the fxaa thing as it makes everything pretty <3

If you can't enjoy the game un-modded I can't see how it would be any better with mods... 90% of mods are retarded child-porn-nexus-pervert-mods, "my first house" mods and god/cheat items. Though, I'm sure the major ones after creation kit will be enjoyable, the popular ones will likely end up being:

ui overhaul
animations overhaul
full hq texture mod
crafting expanded
broken-anti-monster-scaler-that-doesn't-work but people will praise it anyway

I just found these commands if anyone is interested, I thought I was going crazy when distant shots weren't hitting with the bow:

[Combat]
f1PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7
f3PArrowTiltUpAngle=0.7

[Actor]
fVisibleNavmeshMoveDist=14000.0000

The first two remove that shitty auto aiming arc (or whatever it is) while the second will allow you to hit anything for as far as your draw distance allows, apparently.

After using the first two I immediately noticed the bows work as they should. I'm pretty sure that arc is there so that when you aim for the body you actually hit the head. My guess is because most people would aim for that and Beth are compensating, it could be something else but I don't see what else would make much sense.

Same info at the bottom of this page: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Archery

Was getting crazy with the range and the idiotic arc of the arrows.Thank You!!
