Ok,i've got my new PC installed n stuff (check sig),with the SATA mode to IDE so i could install XP and 7 (64bits) at once

My HDD's plugged into the SATA3 6GB Intel port (Blue) and the DVD into a SATA3 3GB port.

I wanna install the AHCI Drivers from my board to XP and 7..the thing is..do i have to plug both SATA cables to the grey SATA ports then enable AHCI...or how's the progress like?..there's this "Marvell" grey SATA port and the drivers have something related i guess..or something..

Thanks in advance

PS: I was able to install the Realtek drivers on XP..so i guess i would be able to do the same on AHCI,right?

Just turn off the Marvell SATA III controller if you don't need it.

If you jump from IDE -> AHCI windows will BSOD on startup without going into recovery mode and fixing some things.

I would have just set the bios to AHCI and said fuck XP and just installed 7 and been done with it. Not sure why anyone would bother installing XP these days. Even more so when you consider Windows 7 Pro comes with XP VM integrated.

Not sure how you'll get XP to run in AHCI mode.

You can try this :
1. Turn Marvell controller to AHCI and install drivers in XP.
2. Switch boot HDD with XP to Marvell controller and switch Intel SATA controller to AHCI.
3. Boot XP and install drivers for Intel AHCI controller.
