Hey, so I got home yesterday afternoon and I turned on the power on the back of my computer and the fuse went in my hall. So I lost all electrical power into my room. I then removed all the eletrical equipment except for my computer and tried to turn the computer on again and the fuse went again so I lost all electricity in my room.

Then I tried using different cable extension cords in case they were malfunctioning and I got the same shit. The fuse went in the hall. So I just left it at that since I was tired and couldn't be bothered but it was clear that the problem was coming from my computer.

Now I tried changing the cable going from the PSU to the cable extension cord and now the fuse didn't go in the hall when I turned the power on in the back of the computer. But now I couldn't turn my computer on either.. So i'm not sure on what to do. I'm suspecting the PSU at play here but I want to cover all the corners and see what you guys say.

Right now i'm able to turn on the psu at the back but there is no power going through the computer.

My rig is:

Corsair TX 650W
MSI ATI 5850 factory overclocked
4 GB Corsair dd3 (forgotten the frequency)
Intel i5-750 (if i remember correctly)
Gigabyte P55-A UD3 (mb)

So what should I do now? Do you think the PSU took the rest of the computer components with it or do I have to replace the PSU only?

Yep that's probably what i'm going to do. The thing is that I have no idea what PSU to get, can you recommend something good that is reliable and will power my setup?

btw, did you try to plug in something else in the outlet the pc was connected to ? Just to make sure its nothing else ? ^^

that being said, the psu you had is normally a good one, so kinda weird it blew up.

Well i've had the rig for about 2 years now. But anyway yes I have, connected my laptop + ipod charger with ipod connected to it to that specific cord extender and everything went fine. Though I doubt those two draw as much juice as my computer.

I even changed the cord extender once and connected my computer to a more modern and newer one and the fuse still jumped.

Most likely a short in your PSU. Your TX650 has a 5 year warranty, so contact your retailer or Corsair. Here in NL it's the retailer's responsibility to deal with it, not sure what it's like where you live. They'll most likely send you the TX650 V2 as a replacement, which is also a Seasonic build so that's fine Smile

And then hope it didn't take your motherboard with it!

Thanks, didn't know that. Sent a form to corsair, so hopefully i'll have it all resolved soon.
