Okey, can't play the game anymore... I launch it, the dragon logo in the middle (main menu) comes up but no actual MENU in the main menu ever shows up... If I alt tab and try to go back it'll act as if I never do the second alt-tab... lol
What the fuck did they break now...
*edit* Yep, Bethesda broke the Vals Crafting mod...
So I actually have the choice of not updating the game to 1.2. Should I not update?
Don't update !
why not?
I just updated it and so far its good...with the resits bugs fixed by the script extender, i dont really care about the dragons flying backwards..
I haven't had any issues ever with the game till 1.2 got auto installed on steam even tho I had said it not to do it -.-' However my dragons doesn't fly backwards they fly away from me when I kill them :S
Last night (7am right now) I killed a dragon after many arrow shots to it while it was just flying around above me, it didn't even attack me or anything, it only became an enemy (red dot) on the compass. So after finally hitting it with the last shot which drained it's life force from it self, it started to fly away from me. I kept following it to be able to get it's soul and loot the dragon scales. But when ever I came to where it was about to fall down it just went back up and flew even further away.
I do hope they're going to fix this shit before next year, but knowing them they'll probably never fix anything and just wait till we fix the stuff our self with the CK..
Friendship is like peeing on yourself; everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings.

Not really, unless you rename the game directory and use Steam_Appid to launch the exe directly I guess.
(You will have two Skyrims however that way, maybe best is to back-up the launcher and game exe as those are the only files that change - interface.bsa might as well be replaced to get those improvements and update.esm is left alone so there's no bug-fixes for Skyrim.esm unfortuantely.)
(Backing up those files and then copying the old files over will thus keep you at 1.1 with the new interface.bsa file while Steam - since the NCF files are updated - thinks the game is patched.)
Steam seems to override the default settings (This is semi-fixed in this current ongoing beta however.) and force certain titles to always update, or so I see it.

I'm tempted to try that beta, but the game would probably update even if I turned it off so it's offline mode for me.
Maybe I'll run a few tests with it on my Win7 partition later.

Why not back up the exe and launcher and let it?
(Like I mentioned, just place the old exe and launcher back after it has updated and it won't bother you until the next patch comes out.)
Tis funny, I can't stop playing skyrim right now, and yet I WANT to play Witcher 2... but for some reason I just can't get myself to stick to the game.
Why would that be?? I think the Witcher 2 is a superb game (I paid real £ for it too ), and yet I play it for a time and then think about doing something else.
I dunno... any psychoanalysts out there...

Wow, works like a charm...
Set the game to never update (although it was the 1.2 version...), uninstalled it, copied my 1.1 files from XP, started steam and the 1.2 update began right away.
Might be related to changing the update setting on a patched 1.2 version of the game, but IMO it should stick if delete that version and copy the files of an older version and load up steam.
Offlline mode for me, it seems.
