Technically it IS endless. Anything that gets put in the "Misc" section is part of the Radiant quest system -- it's all a randomly generated and never ending. The only way you'll clear it out completely is to finish the quests you have now and DON'T take new ones.

Yeah it's pretty cool how it can add a item and target like that and turn it into a sort of quest, since it's all voice acted some of them will likely feel familiar however but it randomizes things heavily (The same quest on two playtroughs will likely lead to two separate areas.) though some always trigger. Smile

(Those filler missions for each faction are infinite as far as I'm aware, one even uses "forever" in the quest title if I'm not mistaken.)

(And some don't it appears, I didn't get to take the sword from the blacksmith up to the Jarl this time, also that wanted quest I normally take from the inn suddenly involved slaying a dragon even though those are not meant to be active yet since the main story hasn't progressed that far in this current game.)

Any way to show all map locations without using a console command? like reading a super book or finding a full map? or something.

Really ? Shocked Wow. And i thought that misc section is for some minor non epic secondary quests, never knew its random generated :>

There's a few map items in the game (Like reading the war room map in each of the cities, the one with all those flags on them.) that script would have to be updated for every single location if it's the actual TMM command you want to avoid, if it's just taking down the console then a script calling TMM 1 would do.
(Unsure how that works, I assume it's for Steam and achievements but I don't know if it's the command or taking down the console itself that counts.)

They're not all randomly generated; some of those quests have voiced dialogue specific to those quests, how would you endlessly generate that? The game can switch the locations of those simple fetch quests tho, so you won't always go to the same dungeon to fetch some crappy sword.

The problem is I want to clean the game without any console command at all. So, in Fallout you have an explorer perk that reveal all in the map, so I was supposing something similar in Skyrim. A quest to get a full map would be really good.

why do you need it? i`m just curious. for me it would ruin most of the game cause exploring and finding new stuff that you had no idea were there is one of the most pleasing things in the game. knowing where everything is somehow creates a "list" of places i have to visit in order to finish the game, and i personally don`t want that.

That's why Fallout give you the option to get the perk at high level, when it's supposed you already have 90% of map done. So, I have +100 hours in Skyrim, and revealing all remaining places could help me to be sure I cleared everything.

@NeHoMaR:

You can just type 'tmm 1' in the command console and it'll show all the map markers in the game. Make sure you really want it since there's no way to revert back to the original status (tmm 0 removes all map markers) apart from loading an earlier save.

Creation Kit (PC Only) — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

Steam Workshop (PC Only) – We’re excited to share news that we’ve been working closely with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop into the Creation Kit. Using the Workshop, you’ll have free user content with the push of a button. The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smartphone. Like a live Netflix queue, when you fire up Skyrim, mods you flagged will be automatically downloaded and installed. Everyone here is really excited about the opportunities and possibilities this opens up for our entire community.

Prefer to use existing modding sites? Not a problem. You’ll still be able to upload/share/access Skyrim mods on fan-created mod sites.

Continued Game Updates – This week we released update 1.2 across all platforms, and we’ll be releasing an incremental update next week. We anticipate it will be up on PC first, and then hit PS3 and Xbox 360 later in the week. Among other things, the update will fix issues like magic resistance not calculating properly and the rare, amazing backwards flying dragon. Once the update is released, we’ll share the full release notes.

After the holidays, we’ll continue to release regular updates for the game — through full title updates, as well as incremental “gameplay updates” to fix whatever issues come up along with rebalancing portions of the game for difficulty or exploits. We plan on having a lot of these, not just a few. Overall, you should expect updates to be hitting the PC and Steam earlier and more often, as that’s a process we control. Console updates will follow, as they must be certified and processed by those manufacturers.

We all know this is a huge game, and everyone has a different experience. We’ll continue to do everything we can to make the game better and better for as many people as possible every day. We’ve also realized that with the millions upon millions of people playing Skyrim, we need to treat our updates with greater care. If we get too aggressive trying to fix a minor issue, we run a risk of breaking something larger in a game like this. To be safe, we are prioritizing code side fixes right now over data fixes. Quest and balance issues are usually data, and those will start rolling in a large way with the January updates.

Same thing as what Valve is going to put in their upcoming Portal 2 DLC then (level browser).

Steam Workshop functionality is probably going to be added or is already added to SteamWorks, for developers to integrate to their games like Steam Cloud, Matchmaking, and more.

Why the steam workshop ?
who benefits and who looses

Not to be down on it but its so rare that the pc platform gets something to benefit its users without there being a downside or it just being a side effect of someone looking to make money.

Doesn't seem to be a control thing as the mods will still be available on nexus

What do ye think

I think it's just a way to make using mods easier for more casual players, kinda like Civilization 5's mod browser.

It does but very slowly. If you want to quickly level up Illusion you're probably better off casting buffs on random NPCs.
