this might be a weird question, but given generally everything is "free" on an iphone is there something actually with a point of paying for on iTunes? Maybe something that is a ongoing service you can get?
got a itunes giftcard I'm not sure what to do with

Well, you gave it away now, but some apps with subscriptions or in-app-purchases can be a pain the ass to get cracked correctly, so those might have been worth getting. But still, those are very few and depend heavily on your interest.

So I will probably have to update to 3.4.5 because I have to reset my phone. Apparently there is no untethered JB out, so I will have to go tethered. How much work is it to execute the JB every time? Is it just one button to press on the PC, or is it a longer procedure?

Sprint to release Iphone 5 in October...
I am leaning on getting an Iphone as much as I hate Apple. However, I will only get Iphone if I can Jailbreak it. Since the latest Iphone out right now is not even Jailbro
ken untehtered, I am guessing the chances of getting a JB for IP5 anytime soon is out of question. Should I just get an Android phone (EVO) instead of waiting for JB on IP5?

My iPhone 4 has a untethered jailbrake running (on a earlier fw tho) so dont worry they will always find a way to jailbreak them Alot of peeps including the jailbreakers are waiting for iOS 5 in oktober.

Fuckingfuckfuckfuckfuck redsn0w.
I am on 4.3.5 (was forced to...) and wanted to make a JB. Basically it works up to the point where I have to boot tethered. When I do that, my device boots up once, but Itunes doesn't recognize the device any more... I can access it in the Explorer, but it doesn't show up in Itunes. When I reboot my device it gets stuck and I have to restore the whole Iphone. Happened 3 times already, I am sick of this shit. Hopefully iOS5 will come out soon and have an untethered JB...

Why not just do an untethered JB? 4.3.5 is piece of cake.
Also, don't hold your breath on untethered JB for iOS5.

I am fine with them holding back the exploit if that means 5 is gonna be hacked faster. But at least the tethered should work... And I am not the only one with that problem, redsn0w itself is quite bugged...

When I hook up my 16GB Iphone 4 (Ios5) to Itunes it says under capacity: 13,71 GB. WTF? Didn't this use to be 14? Or is this because of Ios5?

I have tethered 4.3.5 and it isn't a problem at all, if you do manage to drain your batt it takes literally 2 mins to crack it again on your computer, peice of piss

Yes, look for "exchange unlock" on Cydia.
Warning though, don't forget your passcode. I did, and then when exchange unlock was disabled by accident, I was locked out of the phone and lost loads! Had to restore!
