It optimizes performance when using high (dx10+) reflection quality, should that be a problem you would likely see some improvements but for me it did nothing, then again I use the above adjustments so performance is ~40 or so at best. Razz
(Doesn't matter to me as I can play the game just fine, unsure if it actually looks that much better but it's enabled for now.)

I'm getting really shitty performance with this game.

Running on i7960, 6GB RAM, and 2GB 6950.

Struggling to get 30FPS, driving is not possible. dips down to like 15FPS.... wtf.

Shoulda went with Nvidia?

I have i7920 and Geforce GTX 560 Ti, I'm running at constant 60 FPS.
So yeah, Nvidia is better.

Runs flawless on my rig aswell, something is wrong on your side.

Try driver reinstall with driversweeper cleaning first...

Edit: you sure you are not running forced settings via CCC, because that's the only thing i can think of atm that might cause this other then maybe something with drivers or even the card itself (but i don't think that's the case), and i guess you aint running crossfire (as that is still fucked and gives negative scaling)

It's no surprise to find out then, that the PC version then is easily the one to go for if you've got access to a fairly decent computer set-up. The vastly reduced pop-up, extra clarity, better edge smoothing and superior frame-rates makes ploughing through Steelport's underworld goons far more enjoyable. That said, there's still a lot of fun to be hand with the game on consoles, so long as you can ignore the vastly inconsistent frame-rate on both systems, the excessive tearing on the 360 and the drop in image quality on the PS3.

tl;dr console versions are poop, get it on PC.

Ok...I have read numerous sites about the save game issue and I still haven't been able to figure this out.

Here's what I have done:

When I 1st got the Skidrow version, I tried to copy the entire crack files....but when I ran the game...error.

So I read that you can't copy all the files on the crack...just the exes. I did that...game runs...but no saves.

I never had Steam on my pc...but I installed it. I created an account...no probs there.

I then d/l smart steam. I put all the smartsteam files in the steam folder and then changed the steam.ini file.

Now, when I run smartsteam and try to run SR3...the normal Steam starts up and I can't play the game. It goes to the buy/download steam screen.

I am just about done with this game. Has anyone figured out how to save the games using Vista x32?

Nit

So today I said fuck it and went out and got myself a eVGA GTX 580 Superclocked.

Had enough of this BS from ATI, seems every game that comes out now just fucking sucks tremendously on ATI.... hey I guess you get what you pay for. Dropped a cool $500 the 580, and hopefully its well worth the investment.

Putting up my 6950 on ebay, if anyone is interested PM me.

I'll pop the card in when I get home and post results.

Have 5870 as well and tried many versions of the drivers and driver cleaner ran each time and always 30-40 fps on legit copy.

i5 2500k 3.3 Ghz 8 GB 1600 ram and still ran like dirt, but almost every other game runs great, even arkham city which i hear had some dx11 issues no problems.

How can I disable the DLC for the skid release? I searched 'dlc' for this thread and can't find anything. I remember someone else asked about this here but don't remember a response. TIA!

You need to download the modded .EXE that's floating around on the net. Just search for "Saints row skidrow dlc disable" or something. This disables ALL the DLC though, not just the "unlock all areas" one that people hate.
