Since this is a 360 kinda technical topic let me ask one fast question.
How much noise should power brick do? I have jasper elite just so You know.
yesterday Ive noticed that its almost as loud as xbox itself after playing some skyrim. Today morning it was quiet when Ive turned 360 just to check this out
the power brick should be silent!, i have 2 elites set up downstairs and we sometimes have them both on (for system link) and theres no noise what so-ever from either brick.
What colour is the light on the noisy power brick? and is it covered in dust or near things that could cause large ammounts of static.
nah. Its in kinda open space and I think the noise is starting to appear after some time of gaming. I think I might open it and clear it inside. Is there anything I should look for?

Might just be a noisey transformer. I have never opened one, but most transformers hum, and if they are loose; they can make noise. Just a shot in the dark.
[2011-11-23 11:37AM UTC] 'C4eva noted in private earlier that with his solution, all current and future effort put into AP2.5 by MS is all for nothing.'
c4eva can do a lot.. but maybe he is a bit premature with concluding this.. the way that x360key overcomes the ap2.5 is that is they don't have to burn the disc and can put all the correct respones in the image.. somebody must remember that Starforce protection could not be burned on dvd only emulated.., perhaps c4eva can change the Liteon burner firmware so these sectors can be burned that would explain things.

I think C4E knows what he is talking about. The guy is one of the best in the world in what he does. We both have no clue

well I do have an clue I know there are some pc dvd protections (tages ,starforce) that simply cannot be burned to an dvd. (ap25 is probably similar). unless you make an dvd writer burn in raw writing mode like cd burners can. c4eva didn't used this solution for an reason its a tough one to do.
no this is completely different.. waves was just a small change in the video layer from the xbox disc.
Mhm, I'm talking about the whole premature ejaculation @ the whole "c4eva made a new cfw, so Microsoft is fucking then" . Same story with LT, and we are on LT+ 2.0, with 3.0 in the works.
C4eva shared with us in private today some further details about the upcoming iXtreme LT+ v3.0, which is now targetted for release sometime after December 6, 2011. Earlier this week, Microsoft’s Major Nelson announced December 6 as the official release date for the final version of its Fall 2011 Dashboard Update. Scheduling LT+ v3.0 for release after this date will allow c4eva and the team a chance to analyze the final update so as to ensure no additional changes to v3.0 are necessary.
With the new iXtreme LT+ v3.0, original game discs will need to be analyzed by Xbox Backup Creator in order to gain disc topology data. This data replaces the need for AP2.5/dae.bin data and enables any AP2.5 challenge to be answered correctly. C4eva noted that the topology data method is very efficient — using only 24kB of space — and extremely accurate. Due to differences between them, each game will require its own individual set of topology data. A risk of backups being detected poses itself if the same topology data is used between two different titles. This risk is mitigated by using abgx360 to make certain that the backup contains the appropriate topology data.
Backups will remain the same layout, but will either need to have the topology data inserted by the new abgx360, or be re-dumped with the new Xbox Backup Creator. C4eva reconfirmed that all current AP2.5-active XGD2 and XGD3 backups with old AP25 replay data are not backward-compatible with iXtreme LT+ v3.0 and will indeed need to be patched or re-dumped and re-burned.Non-AP2.5 titles, however, will remain unchanged and do not require re-burning.

Yes I agree that its been blown up too quickly but at least we do have 3.0 on the way which is miles better than NOT having 3 on the way
need some directions on how to fix my messed up xbox.
i have a Phat Liteon which had firmware 1.6.
i put a new game in which reflashed the firmware.
i updated the firmware to lt2.0 and old backups work again- so far so good.
now new games dont work, and i see i am still on the old dashboard revision.
what do i need to do now to update the dashboard to get the newer games to work?
