SabSab criticized the poor story telling. People got upset. Thought he insulted the batman franchise and nolan and all of the movies together. That's fanboyism. that's like me saying darth maul was a shit character and then some fucknut telling me the entire star wars story from begining to end and how i'm a derp for not understand the struggle that luke Skywalker and Anakin both shared in both trilogies. FFS!!!
bb and tdk 6 year gap... i had no idea. It didn't seem like it. The city hadn't aged. Characters haven't aged. Batman hasn't aged as a hero. bb ended with joker card. tdk began with the joker. If that's a 6 year gap... then either batman is a very lousy detective or joker was a slow retarded manchild who couldn't rob a bank until 6 years later
i agree with the 8 year gap being shitty story telling. I would prefer a 2 year gap. 3 year gap at most. Gah. If you're going to make an 8 year gap at least make it presentable.
No it wouldnt. It would be the same if the movies hadnt come out yet and you said it was shitty without having a clue.
I think Nolan should of done about 30 minutes at the begining of DKR on what has happened within those 8 years, not just leave 8 years out and then Batman Rises again, whats he done in those 8 years? Drink, piss, eat and sleep? But in no doubt Nolan may add a couple of story telling through out the film about what has happened in those 8 years but we wont find out until next year.
I still do not understand how it is shitty storytelling. Is there some kind of rule?
+1
Clearly Nolan has a reason for setting the film so long after TDK. Could it be to show how Gotham City has descended into chaos in that time? Could it be to distance the narrative from the second film so that people aren't wondering where the Joker is?
To say that it is shitty storytelling without having the slightest clue as to how it pertains to the film's plot is utterly stupid.
Besides, when Heath Ledger was cast as the Joker the internet lit up in a rage, furious over how he was too young/not menacing enough. Those uninformed criticisms turned out to be true, didn't they...
So wait, unless I can do better I'm not entitled to an opinion? Pathetic
@everyone else
I never once said BR was going to be a shit film. I said skipping eight years is poor story telling and it is, whether you accept that or not. Both Nolan's Batman movies were outstanding and I see no reason why the third wouldn't be either.. but Jesus... way to fanboy, guys. Get over it
Actually your so far off been right it aint even funny, I would fight for you to have your opinion wether I agree or not and the same for anyone else, but if I want I will make the statement I did as I find it fitting, its always ironic when anybody criticises something which isnt even finished yet especially when they themselves likely have no experience of doing the said thing (feel free to point in the direction of your rendition of the dark knight story)
The only PATHETIC thing in here is your blatant dislike of Chris Nolan (in my OPINION) you are every much a zealot as those you are pointing a finger at for over defending what none of us have even seen yet, your just the same.
Wait till its out then lets see what we alll think, just so far based on what has been done with the dark knight story is excellent IMO which suggests the same outcome with TDKR for me anyway, hopefully I am right.

the internet did not light up in rage over heath ledger being cast as the joker.

also blind faith... cause its nolan
I'm not a big Nolan fan, but you're not really being fair.
It's not blind faith if you're a fan of his work - because you have his track record to base expectations on.
It's the same thing when Blizzard releases a new title. If you liked their previous work, chances are you'll like their new stuff. No guarentee, obviously, but hardly blind faith.
it is blind faith. inception is a good movie. If you're not a nolan fan, it's just a heist movie with really simple writing. Same for BB/TDK. Memento was praised to death by every single nolan fan, yes it was good, but there are papers about the film, so much analysis that show that within the film, within the script, although it's alluded... you never know/find out who killed his wife. His really good movie was insomnia. <3d it. Prestige was acceptable.
Now. If I had blind faith in nolan like so many fanboys do, i'd go mad! Prestige acceptable? BR/TDK simple writing? Memento isn't clear enough LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! Inception is just a heist movie?! And then call me an idiot for not understanding the master power of nolan.
I like his movies. They're crafted really well. He failed at fight scenes in batman begins, but he did them better in TDK so it's all good. TDK's last 30 minutes were rushed to hell, but maybe he'll finally get a good pace for TDKR. And not to mention goyer and nolan wrote the story (according to imdb). So there's some saving grace.
All in all writing isn't the strongest suit in the nolan family. Person of interest is a great idea but poorly written or a really really really miscast project. Tbh... i think it's a little bit of both.
Nolan has great ideas, he executes them well, he's visual... he can be compared to some of the great directors, but he can't be compared to the great writers.
So leave it. the 8 year gap isn't justified. It's a cop out to have something happen that to them (nolan, nolan jr, and goyer) is in some way acceptable. Which with good writing wouldn't need an 8 year gap.
Did anyone read the "leaked" description of DKR prologue? Don't know if it is true or not but in it
Spoiler:
The story picks up right after TDK. Batman evades the police and is cornered in the tunnel by Bane. Batman is seriously beat up after just facing joker, and Bane easily defeats him and breaks his back. Apparently that one quick shot of batman backing away from Bane looking all tired in the teaser, is this exact moment
Now maybe that is why there is an 8 year jump. Recovery. Doing research to fix it.
Again, do not know how legit that leak is, but sounds cool.
if that really is the prologue and then an 8 year bit... LOL!
Fuuuuuuu
if batmen ran into bane and got raped up the ass... he wouldn't do 8 year recovery... srsly? Batmen is chuck norris of DC universe. He can take a beating. Get face fucked and still get up the next morning and kick ass.

bullshit on that, also it's some fanmade shit
Here's from all the videos and photos i've seen from the set what some of the story is going to be about
- Marion Cottilard is Talia and fucks Wayne's shit up from the inside (hence the shitload of Tumblers roaming the streets)
- ~Bane was trained by Ra'as
- ~Batman gets fucked up by Bane (probably) and while he's recovering everything goes to shit since Bane exposes Harvey Dent and blah blah blah again the corruption thing, back to chaos again
- Cops fight back
-~ Pussy Girl got help from Batman because they had a common enemy, no buddy buddy antics or out of sheer pitty that he was practically without any chance of winning
- Matthew Modine is some corrupt politician that works with the league of shadows for his own benefit
- ~can't confirm 100% that JGL gets his brains blown out by Talia
Wouldn't be surprised if they redid the temple monk thing from BB and they'd show that Bane was a trainee aswell and idolized Ra'as since he was some sort of father figure.
I'd be surprised if Bane broke a fucking mouse's back, let alone Batman's so stop it with that shit.
