 |
so been thinking of doing this for years, but now ima do it before xmas arrives as surprise for my mom. Going to record all the old tapes of me and my bros as kids on my PC and burn them to DVD.
but i dont know where to start, been looking for an external USB based device to connect to the VHS recorder to. But i have no knowledge what to look for precisely, also its difficult to rely on user reviews since the herpderp level is high on the internet , some give 10/10 some give 0/10 cause they cant get it to work.
I got 2 VHS recorders, both got analog tv cable , composite and RGB scart. Now when looking through all the devices to record with none offer RGB it seems, many support SVIDEO but i doubt my recorders have it, so composite will do.

the above one i was looking at, wondered if you guys got input or better suggestions ( please keep it to british or german amazon ).
And after picking the device... i got no clue about video editing , or what programs to use to record and edit , or convert. Converting wise the few times i did it i used xvid4psp or something , which is regular updated and works like a charm. Planning to record in x264 high bitrate in PAL resolution with 320kb/s vorbis for the master recording and convert those to DVD... but thats something ill bug you guys about at a later point
all input appreciated !
