So I entered this cave and killed a few semi-transparent trolls. Is this a bug or are some trolls actually supposed to be see-through for some reason? I have encountered a few trolls before and they didn't look like they were half stuck in a ghostly realm.

Am I the only one who found Skyrim slower/laggier since installing this "performance" driver? Single 4870 with 512mb, game ran pretty smooth on Ultra settings + fxaa shader mod before.

The "patch" only added a wrapper to make the game launch only via Steam. It didn't contain any "fixes". Though, it did break some things.

Those 3 are very similiar games with each one mainstreaming more and more. | Please shut the fuck up.
Oblivion is almost the same as Morrowind?
-No retardo hand holding compass and markers.
-Mostly individual dungeons with unique loot.
-Much more NPC's than Oblivion, with much more dialogue(even if it's just mostly the same, beats oblivion's/skyrim's 4 sentences in SOME of the NPC's).
-No retarded level scaling.
-No retarded unique item scaling (Auriel's Bow will always do 2-50 damage, regardless if you get it by level 1 or 30).
-Huge cities when compared to Oblivion and especially Skyrim.
-Much more versatile spells (levitation, mark and recall).
-Money is actually usefull, can't survive to get some of the better items if you keep your initial/shit gear, so you actually need to buy stuff to get better stuff.
-Much more immersive game world than Oblivion(well... IMO).

Alright alright, the "shut the fuck up" bit was overboard.
Sorry about that one, KillerCrocker.

Skyrim has almost the exact same setup in every place you visit which is a HUGE disappointment for me as I left the big ones alone for 65hrs. Solitude, Windhelm and (Markarth is it?) are the only really interesting ones. I still haven't visited one of them but for the others... very unimpressive :/ |
It reflects the fact that you're no longer in Tamriel, you're far up north in Skyrim with villages and small towns instead of imperial cities, pretty similar to the average size of viking/medieval towns and villages.
I actually prefer it this way. I never liked the big city in Oblivion. It was too big and took too long to get to the right spot by foot (it was divided into multiple sections).
Something completely different: anybody else suffering from random CTD's (every 2-3 hours on average) with no explanation? Memory leak?
I enabled logging in the skyrim.ini or skyrimprefs.ini but the only result is a log.txt in the game directory with:
redirecting CreateDevice
device->GetBackBuffer failed
redirecting CreateDevice
And I doubt that's actually about the CTD's.

so i bought the breezehome house, had a ton of gold too so i bought every possible furnishing thing and it has a few things that are kinda cool and the obligatory storage space but other than that not too worthwhile imo.
had 1 weapon rack which can hold and display two weapons, nice touch if you have some enchanting accidents that got an effect that look cool, also had a shield rack for... your shields and a bookcase.
overall i'd say the houses were a cool little touch to skryim, but..... kind of useless too, it's a nice bit of fluff for sure but... i've yet to find a real purpose or much that's cool about them.
i did like that you could add an alchemy crafting station to it though or an enchanting one, but... it was a bit disappointing that you can't have both in the same house.

I actually found a solution, but it doesn't stick since I believe Steam replaces the .exe.
I downloaded an app named Explorer Suite.
1. Run CFF Explorer
2. Open TESV.EXE
3. Click on "File Header" in the list on the left
4. Click on "Click Here" in the last row named 'Characteristics'
5. Tick "App can handle +2GB Adress Space"
6. Save .exe (first make a backup of the original EXE)
It worked for a while but then the CTD's came back. Checked the exe with CFF Explorer again and that setting had reverted to unticked. Ticked it again. I'll write-protect the exe (doubt it'll help).
EDIT: Nope, write-protecting was a bad idea, now the Steam launcher is just stuck. And I don't want to run the cracked version. Meh!

It's not the size of the cities, just the design and how most smaller ones are just rearranged versions of the same thing
Nehrim did both cities and towns better than any TES game IMO |
so... one could conclude from that then that it's not the size of the city but how you use it that matters?

@Frant
i have only had two crashes. one was a normal ctd which happened seemingly at random when i went through a door/loading screen in whiterun. the other was a hard crash that locked up my whole pc and required me to use the reset button to recover from...that one happened when i found a painted cow walking down the road and stopped to investigate. i walked up to the cow and everything froze.
im not sure if it makes a difference, but i usually close the game when i go out for an extended smoke break or to make something to eat. i would guess the longest stretch i ever had it running for is no more than 3 or 4 hours. i also used cff explorer to enable +2gb. im running the cracked version so the option is still enabled for me (i just double checked to make sure after reading what you said about yours being reverted).

frant if you still have your old exe you can redo the 4gb trick and be sure to make steam to not update the game for now
ifnot there's an updated falloutnv4gb launcher out haven't tried that yet and the link is missing in my sticky bars (read 300open tab in a tabmanager that doesn't load em till i want em to)
if ya need the link just throw me a pm ^^

Well it broke my game as a starter. Can't large address aware the exe anymore so I get a CTD every 5 mins now. Nice job Bethesda.
Edit* Got it working decently again by using this

I wish those two were in the game so I could murder them. Then resurrect them and murder them again. Oh and trap their souls, use them to enchant some ragged pants and then give them to dirty beggars.
