Call me mainstream, but I gotta go for World of Warcraft.

My favorite MMO was EVE Online, which I don't play anymore.
I now play WWII Online. What side is everyone on who plays it, here on NFOrce?

Everquest before the third expansion. That game was ruined by it.

I have played
Ultima Online
WW2 Online
World Of Warcraft
Guildwars
Everquest 2
and at the moment i dont play any... but mine was WW2 Online... i guess mainly because im not into the whole fantasy thing.. and WW2O is VERY Dynamic.. eg there is a moving front etc.. the map changes etc.. so its not like most of the games where u level up.. for no reason.. things you do in WW2O EFFECT the game world itself.. and the community is good.. i remember we would meet online for a big move etc... a big group of us on the runway in our bombers.. tanks getting ready etc etc etc... good times
Wow was GREAT for a couple of months.. then it got really boring imho.,..
So whats your FAV and why ? |
Well after reading this I went out and bought myself the WW2 Online game... online.... and I've been pleasantly surprised. I'd tried the game offline in the past and found it less than appealing but after a couple of days of online gaming (and getting to grips with what can only be described as perhaps one of the most un-user-friendly approaches I've ever come across) found the game to be very enjoyable for the most part.
I'm still nowhere near 'the zone' as my compatriats in the game world seem to be - I generally feel lost for the most part and attach myself to any unsuspecting passerbys whether they like it or not (and invariably they do like it - a very helpful bunch indeed).
I've tailgunned, been a fighter pilot, got blown up in the docks on my first naval assignment and generally ran around getting shot as your basic infantry.
But all in all I have to say that for the most part I've enjoyed it and from what I've seen and played of the latest beta things seem to be going further in the right direction with a much improved interface and future features to keep me happy.
I'd ask anyone who was initially put off by all the bugginess that plagued it's launch to give it another try - even in todays climate of games where these simple graphics might not be so appealing it doesn't detract.
Just don't be downheartened by the learning curve. I am at times still (it's only been two days!) but I can see light at the end of the tunnel at least
