Anand

Intel have added it to release notes again. Let's hope it's not the same nonsense as March 2010 and they actually do it this time Razz

Not that I personally care, but I know some people on here still dribble over the idea of having 2 SSD's in RAID 0.

May I ask what's the real advantage of doing SSD's in RAID 0? Smile

There is none really. It increases sequential speeds a bit, but even with mechanical drives nowadays you'll only notice that if you do lots and lots of copying between drives. Given how high sequential speeds are these days, it's more for e-peen than anything. It can help a little in some games, just like an SSD can help in some games (versus a mechanical drive), but overall, pretty pointless.

I've seen some extreme systems with 4 (!!!) Vertex 3's in Quad-RAID0 with benchies above 1.5GB/s. Overkill, I'm perfectly happy with my single Vertex 2E's performance.

Well - To do the SSD Caching you need a SSD partition in RAID with a mechanical drive. So this would definatly benefit users doing that. I was on the verge of doing that with my Z68 system, but decided it would be better to just outright use the space on the SSD instead of wasting 20GB for a cache.
